(Premier League 2023/2024): Highlights Bournemouth - Tottenham Hotspur

The excitement and belief for this new Spurs is very real, encouraging performances and the superb win of a match denied. It's been singing the name of the new head coach as well. Neto, that is extremely loose. Herminsson plays in, Maddison, good save for Charleston on the follow-up and Spurs with the first meaningful chance of the day. It's far too casual, Neto got punished this time. Maddison with the interception and Son tried to slip in, the new vice captain, good save from Neto. Not the cleanest of strikes from Maddison. Pessuma, Saar, it's lovely play this from Spurs. Great vision, goal for James Maddison. It's a first for Spurs, new number 10. Beautifully crafted, splendid vision from Saar. Spurs have the lead. This is exceptional build-up play. Pessuma with that lovely turn away from Christie and then Saar with the perfect weight of pass. Maddison just needed the slightest of connections to guide it into the net. His first goal as a Tottenham Hotspur player guides it round Neto into the net. That pass from Saar was perfect. One Maddison himself would have been proud of. Udoge, Maddison protects it to Charleston, hands off to Maddison, what a move this is. Herminsson looking for help, does he need it? Saar's arriving here, Saar shoots. That would have been an extraordinary Spurs goal. In by Maddison, great delivery, only as far as Son. Has the quality, couldn't quite execute this time. Christie, the high delivery and Philly, who is a major aerial threat, is the player to get the header down. And look at Spurs, getting white shirts forward here. Maddison, with Charleston, what a touch. Can he put it in? No. Got his foot in there to start a counter-attack. Bournemouth wanted a free kick. Great pass from Maddison, which Charleston did superbly here, but it was just slightly behind him. Couldn't get the shot away properly. Deceived Kelly, but could not improvise a finish. Agonizing as it loops over Son's head too. It is a busy box. Maddison, oh and there's Charleston in the back post. It was he and Romero looking to meet it. Semenu, that's the recovery challenge of Bournemouth. Christie, shoots for Cario Paris. Semenu got his toe on the ball there and it opened up a little bit for Christie, who's got the technique to shoot from distance. Pessuma, lovely ball into him. Richarleston set away and Kulasevsky's there in support and Kelly committed sliding challenge on Richarleston and it is a free kick. Spurs have given it away. Billing hangs it out to Kluivert. It's a very good pass. Kluivert blocked by Pedro Poro and Billing has come closer than anyone in his first half to scoring for Bournemouth. But Semenu, not for the first time, has pinched it from a difficult position. Trying to get away from Pessuma. Overplays that to Kluivert. The referee's going to go back for the challenge by Pessuma, I think. He'll check inside as reinforcements arrive. Pedro Poro, Richarleston. It's just not happening for Richarleston at the moment. So it's a yellow card for Richarleston. Arreola, Billing. Arreola on the edge of his technical area, ushering his team forward. Kluivert. Semenu, off. What a hit that was from Antoine Semenu. Scored a really nice goal at the Copen against Liverpool last week. That would have been even more special. Vicario could only watch. Perisic. Pops it down the line to Udoge. Keeps going. Nice one-two with Son. And the cutback is perfect. And the finish is two. A first of the season for Dejan Kulizetski. In front of the away end in pursuit of the away win. Spurs are two up. Perisic. Pops that ball down the line to Udoge. And there's a lot of work to do here for the young fullback. But he gets a really smart one-two going with him in Son. And just tries to keep it alive. And Kulizetski was sharper than anyone to get onto it. And guide it around Neto. Bournemouth have been bright in this second half. But Spurs have a second goal. Kulizetski threads it. Maddison turns. Still Maddison looking for a second. And he was not far away from it. Play goes down off the ball under the challenge of Perisic. Referee is stopping the play. Oh that's clever. Perisic. Pedro Poro with the layoff. Kulizetski. Son. Ben Davis. Spurs arguably could and should have had a third. Son. Perisic does get there. Ivan Perisic. Brilliance. Would have been a splendid goal from Ivan Perisic. Way to pass from Son. Couldn't have been much better. Max Ahrens is in a complete tangle.
