When we speak of existence all by itself without any qualifiers, we can only think of it as without beginning or end. Such is the purity of the essential word "existence", that even an unspiritual person would get that subtle suggestion from simply logical sensibilities. But, for that quickly recovering "dead" spirit, qualifiers immediately begin to suggest more earthly rationales.
