
Real Bolognese Meat Sauce with Trader Joe's ingredients
The original recipe has been officially updated by the Italian Academy of Cuisine, which deemed the change necessary to adapt to the consumption habits of today’s families and filed it with the Bologna Chamber of Commerce.
It's one of the very few "officials" Italian recipes.
Ingredients:
6 servings:
14 oz of ground beef
5 oz of fresh sliced pork belly (pancetta fresca di maiale)
1/2 onion
1 carrot
1 celery stalk
1/2 cup of red or white wine
1 cup of tomato puree
1 tbsp of double tomato paste
1/2 cup of whole milk (optional)
meat or vegetable broth (also stock cube)
3 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
