The preparation for this project has started two years ago.
I think the various jumps are difficult because it's a totally unknown area for me.
This altitude is totally unknown.
You can come to base camp quite fast, quite quickly from Kathmandu,
but we spend five days on our way to the base camp,
check the local temple, walking around a little bit. It's just for good acclimatization.
I've been on many expeditions with Valery all over the world, but now we're here on Everest,
the highest mountain in the world, which is completely different. We have super strong
winds, cold temperatures, extreme conditions. We're going to make it a tough project.
We are really restricted in timing. It's getting really up to seven and a half thousand meters
at the shortest space of time. Normally it takes us four or five weeks to get acclimatized to that
height, but we really only have three weeks, so it's really keeping the team strong,
keeping the team healthy, and really getting that acclimatization as fast as possible.
The exit spot is located 200-250 meters above the North Pole, below the North Wall of Everest.
We found quite a good spot for landing. The most critical part for me during this jump is to start
to fly as early as possible. If the weather window comes a day or two before we have our time set for
the jump, Valery will have to use oxygen to get to the jump site, and then obviously if the weather
is good, he can go from there. Right now I'm feeling quite positive about our final step and
jump from Everest. Of course I'm super happy. Even in the air I feel that I did it.
