张掖丹霞地貌位于甘肃省河西走廊中段的张掖市，古为河西四郡之一张掖郡，取“断匈奴之臂，张中国之掖（腋）”之意。
张掖丹霞地貌在方圆五十平方公里山地丘陵地带，有造型奇特，色彩斑斓，气势磅礴的丹霞地貌。丹霞是指红色砂砾岩经长期风化剥离和流水侵蚀，形成的孤立的山峰和陡峭的奇岩怪石，这里的丹霞地貌发育于距今约2亿年的前侏罗纪至第三纪。
Zhangye Danxia Landform is located in Zhangye City in the middle of the Hexi Corridor in Gansu Province.
Zhangye Danxia landform is located in the mountainous and hilly area with a radius of 50 square kilometers. There are Danxia landforms with peculiar shapes, colorful colors and majestic momentum. Danxia refers to the isolated peaks and steep strange rocks formed by long-term weathering stripping and water erosion of red glutenite. The Danxia landform here developed from the pre-Jurassic to the Tertiary about 200 million years ago.
