Highlights: Newcastle - Aston Villa | Premier League Summer Series 2023

Here's Buendia going a long way forward. And a good pass too for Obi Watkins! Aston Vithar take the lead! Obi Watkins there, top scorer for the past three years in a row. In this final match in Philadelphia, it's Vithar who strikes first. Well, this is exactly what Unai Emery wants. Spread out, goalkeeper put your foot on the ball. Buendia comes outside to in, wins the ball. They're now in an advantageous position with one of their best footballers on the ball and Oli Watkins isn't going to miss from there. 1-0 Aston Vithar. The players who have been so well drilled by the meticulous Unai Emery. The Omi attack once again here with Buendia! It's 2-0! Aston Vithar flying here. Two goals in the first 11 minutes. This time Emi Buendia. Another superb finish. This is comfortable. This is where you want your wingers. This is where you want your attackers. Buendia, step over. Defender doesn't know which way to go. He's on an island, he has no cover. Buendia can do what he wants. Shifts it and it gives the goalkeeper no chance. This is exactly what Oli Watkins did a couple of minutes before. And no less up in the flow of goals in Philadelphia. Having two in behind here, the flag has stayed down. Chance for Newcastle to get one back. For this time, the high line has been exposed. And Newcastle back in the game. It's the youngster, Anderson. Newcastle one, Vithar two. It's tight. It's really, really tight. Matty Cash decides to step up. That's what he's supposed to do. But they will get caught, ultimately, if they continue to play high, which is what they've been drilled to do. There is space in behind. Anderson did really well. I tell you what, he still had some work to do. Real clever feet. Another asset there. Emi Martinez's game. That fine throw out. So, Matty Cash. He's lost it. Anderson. And Anderson going on! Oh, and it somehow stays out. But not for long. It's two-two. They've come back from two-nil down. And it's Isak. What a first half here. Newcastle two. Aston Vithar two. Well, it's good pressure. This is what Newcastle do best. Hunting packs. And I tell you what, Elliot Anderson's not your average 20-year-old because he's fearless. And when the ball falls to Isak like that, he's not going to miss. Lugudino can't really do much. He's running back to his own goal. Isak, thank you very much. Two-two. Dabin Firdajian here. You had a lively first half of Vithar. Turns that one square. Oh, and it's off the post. And then put in front again. Emi Buendia. Just after halftime. Vithar lead by three goals to two. This is Vithar at their best. It's picture perfect. Every time we see Vithar attack, it's open you up wide, get the ball through the middle. And I must say, Dubrovka here, when a ball comes out, makes a brilliant save. Gets it onto the post. Maybe should even get it wider as much of a hand as he got on it. Buendia with the brace. Comfortable as you like. Here's Gordon. Good save by Olsen. And then the rebound. Tucked in. 3-3. Callum Wilson. What a game we have yet again. Brilliant game. I mean, you just see. That's a great ball from LaSalle's. But a really good run by Anthony Gordon. Works the goalkeeper. Does what he's supposed to do. Olsen gets it wide. And I'll tell you what. Callum Wilson, I think, still has a lot to do. I know it looks an easy finish. But he coolly sides with that. We've seen players miss. But I like this. I like that Wilson took it first time. More ball there by Olsen. Wilson. Now they're taking out from behind. The referee says no. No penalty. You can hear the boos from the Toon Army here in Philadelphia. Rightfully so. I think he's come through the back of Callum Wilson. I think they've got away with one. Ben Buendia. Timed the run well. Hat-trick chance to Buendia. Beyond the goalkeeper. And he could not provide that finishing touch. Really good feet here from Ben Buendia. Just rolls on LaSalle. Steps over. And unfortunately the angle ends up going away from him. Good play all around. The first draw of the summer series with six goals shared. Newcastle 3-3.
