TINY Plant Repotting (Dwarf Samurai Snake Plant)

You should always loosen the rootball when repotting, otherwise the plant might not grow out of it.
With tiny plants like this one, I do this very gently. I don't want to damage the roots. They are needed to provide stability to the plant, to absorb water and nutrients from the soil. The plant doesn't have a lot of them, so I try to preserve them.
With larger plants, as you will see in my other videos, you don't need to be so gentle, you can damage/cut the roots freely, the plants will be fine.
Besides loosening the rootball, I suggest also removing all old soil. With tiny plants like this one, the soil gets compressed over time, so it doesn't absorb water so easily. Another reason for removing it is, with the new, better draining, more airy soil, the roots will get more oxygen, which is essential for plant growth and health.
Don't be afraid to press the soil very firmly around the roots, you'll see how I do it. You want the roots to be in contact with the soil.
