The Top 10 moments of all-time from the Australian Open, feautring the likes of Roger Federer, Venus Williams, Serena Williams and Pete Sampras.
What can I say?
I don't know what to say.
I'd like to congratulate Marcus first.
Well done.
And I hope you know how much this means to me.
I guess it's all coming out now.
God, I've had some hard speeches but this one is a little rough right now.
And then last but not least I would like to thank
Rodney Lehmann for the trophy.
Thank you guys.
No, really.
I didn't really imagine to be back on this great stadium and play with the best.
It's great.
It's lovely to see you back.
We're so happy for you.
Got great support back home in the last couple of weeks.
Sorry I couldn't do it for you tonight.
I can cry like Roger.
It's just a shame I can't play like him.
Fourth chance for Williams to seal the deal.
She's done it.
Jessica's final for her.
And she is delighted.
6-7, 6-3.
Today was a really special day.
I remember I was 14 years old and I was lying in bed.
And all I wanted to do was make it in the mainstream in some way.
I wanted to show that people with a disability can be elite at what they do.
I wanted to show them that they can be normal people, get a job, work, have fun, have a partner,
do all the things everyone takes for granted.
I just wanted to see people with a disability succeeding in the mainstream, in the media.
And today, because of the Australian Open and the wide world of sports,
this match was broadcast into every single TV in Australia.
Coming here for a lot of years,
this is your first win in any Grand Slam main draw on the 15th attempt.
The reality is five and 18 minutes of full emotion there for this young lady.
We'll give you a little moment just to compose yourself.
You can see the emotion is very, very high.
Explain to us the journey that got you to here and the win.
The thing in my life that's the tenderest is
I'm so happy, so excited.
I want to say thank you to my coach, my parents.
Thank you everybody for supporting me. Thank you.
So when somebody comes out of the rough, as she did, abused by a tyrannical father,
just being here as a wild card was a triumph.
I battled severe depression for about two years
and didn't play for months at a time
and was really seriously thinking about not playing.
What I have to go through, it's really great to have this win
and I don't think a lot of people know what it means to me.
It's great just to be here at a Grand Slam level, I mean.
Thank you all for supporting me. It feels really unbelievable.
Hey guys.
Felt better.
Well, thanks for the support. I mean, you guys are unbelievable.
Maybe I'll try later again. I don't know.
God, it's killing me.
I think your applause says it all, but we'll just let Roger take a break just for a moment.
We will hear from him, we'll just let him settle down.
And in the meantime, we shall meet our champion
and what an extraordinary 12 months he has had.
Ladies and gentlemen, Rafael Nadal.
I'll try again.
I don't want to have the last word. This guy deserves it.
So, Rafael, congrats.
You played incredible. You deserve it, man.
You played another fantastic final.
So, all the best for the season.
Well, good evening, everybody.
Well, first of all, Roger, sorry for today, I know.
I know.
Yeah, I really know how you feel right now.
It's really tough, but you remember you are a great champion.
You are one of the best of the history.
You're going to improve the 14 of some, for sure.
Now, ladies and gentlemen, to our champion for 2007.
She came into this event ranked 81 in the world.
She will leave it being ranked number 14.
The 2007 Australian Open champion is Serena Williams.
And most of all, I would like to dedicate this win to my sister.
Who's not here. Her name is Yetunde.
And I just love her so much.
I'll try not to get teary-eyed, but a couple of days ago I said,
if I win this, it's going to be for her.
So, thanks, Yetunde.
Serena Williams, ladies and gentlemen.
2007 Australian Open champion.
This is just the most dramatic circumstance.
Sam Press in tears.
This is unbelievable.
And I, whether it's just that
it can't possibly be just the tension
of the situation. It must be a physical problem that's causing
Sam Press this distress.
Keep in mind, his coach Tim Gullickson has been taken ill
and has flown home to the United States for further treatment.
I think Sam Press is in trouble.
And that's the reply from Sam Press.
Three match points for Sam Press in the most remarkable comeback.
He's got it!
The crowd have gone absolutely berserk here.
