The Blue Grass Trust first installment of our 2021-2022 Lecture Series, “Patented: The Innovative Spirit of Garrett A. Morgan,” presented by Mr. Morgan’s granddaughter Sandra Morgan.
Garrett Morgan is remembered as an inventor and innovator who is most well-known for his invention of the traffic light and prototype of the gas mask. He was also a beloved citizen of Cleveland, Ohio, and helped establish racial equality within the city and nation. His granddaughter Sandra is dedicated to sharing her grandfather’s legacy.
Mr. Morgan is a descendent of the Hunt-Morgan Family and we are honored to include his story with the history of Hopemont.
