Mastering Chinese Poetry Ep. 9: The Mourning Day

Qingming Festival (Tomb Sweeping Day) is a traditional Chinese festival for families to pay their respects to dead ancestors. People tidy up their ancestors' grave sites and offer sacrifices such as food, drinks and flowers. Considered as one of the 24 solar terms on the Chinese lunar calendar, the festival falls on April 4 this year.
