Now I have to be careful how much I tease myself
But I'm now quite happy with my joke
I started the proscenium tour here this year and I started in some pretty high categories
I started with an ATP tournament in Auckland
It's been a bit of a tough start to the year but I also started with some really good players
I wasn't really sure what to expect but just before the coronavirus break I started playing well
They won many matches went far in tournaments and then it all stopped on
its own I felt it was a bit unfortunate
I think I have used this period to train well and I have been able to play a lot of games at a really high level
Which I think will help me a lot when it opens again
So I think I have used my time wisely and have had a good year
There's obviously a lot that's been put on hold because the entire tournament schedule and everything else has been paused
It's hard to get as far up the rankings as the rainforest when there are no tournaments being played that give points
It's just about trying to work that is trying to develop the things on the training plan that one can develop
And then come out and play some invitation tournaments which I've been allowed to try to go out and do
And it's a great opportunity because there's not as much at stake in those tournaments but it's still matches
If you want to win there's a lot of honor and stuff
like that So I actually think it's been cool after all
I have Lars in the morning when we start
Now that it's summer vacation we can train a bit later than usual
We usually start at midday but now we start at noon when we do some warm-up in the physical space
And then we go out on the field and do a lot of agility movement trying to get started on the ball so you're clearly in control of it
We usually spend half an hour to three quarters of an hour on technical work
Front back escape saw
Then we run some patterns and some 3x1 intervals to get the pulse up a bit and to run a bit of safety and intensity
And then for the last half hour to an hour we really push hard with cardio training
Or lifting weights at the gym and stuff like that
So this is my first pass
So I have a short break a two-hour break and then I have training with Kenneth in the afternoon
We play a lot of shots passes and movement with the ball
Yes mainly shots and a lot of first touches and such
Our first training focuses a lot on details and the next training focuses more on where the ball is
Lars is very detail-oriented and I think that's really really special especially now that I have a lot to learn
I'm only 17 I can still develop my technique and physical abilities and everything else and I think he's really good at that
And yet I can still use what we've had together for many many years actually since I started
And I think he's becoming a better coach and I'm becoming a better player
So I still think it works well with developers too
He's good at seeing all the little things that maybe many other players miss
I actually don't know a single coach who is so detail-oriented and can see those things that he can
Which is really wild even when I see something myself
So I am also very detail-oriented but he still notices a small thing with his knee
Maybe it's touching there or there right
So there are a lot of small things to keep in mind
to stay focused on the left arm so it doesn't slack off
So it's very much about being I mean not robot-like but trying to be as clean as possible in everything we do
When I play many games I do a lot of shooting practice with players who play quickly
So the technique can get a little off but he's really good at correcting the technique
It's also him who has taught me to calculate interest in advance calculate interest in arrears and everything else right
He's good at pushing me on feedings and everything
He can't play as well anymore himself but he can decide the feed well
And he is a good coach so I enjoy training with him
One must also have freedom in their game right
It's just like that that Kenneth comes in because it's also okay to be a bit loose once in a while
And I think he's good at it He's good at tricking me out of the good shots and taking the feeds
He's like that it's such a waste training like that
So I think that combo is really good when I'm at home
Kenneth still has a very good level so we can team up and
he gives up and he gets better and better at every training
He's actually in order now but he's also good as I said before with freedom
He gives me freedom in my strikes
We are running a lot where Lars notices some other things that are important which are also important
Men they are also for me I think I can also like my previous self and have freedom in it
And if I want it then I also have to get some light feed for them
And he really has the ability to give me confidence in them
So he is also a very important part of it
He knows the level and he himself was ranked 40th in the world
So he knows when it's good shots and he has something to have it in
Where there are many others where it's nicely done but it's completely gone
So he can feel when I play the top 20 for the NHL
She's been there herself it's been a couple of years now but still
So it's great to know as an old player that you still have the level
And he doesn't just think I can become a top 20 player
I think I have what it takes to be
number one in the world So it's pretty cool to know that for someone like that
