A natural waterslide in the middle of Winter? OK!
We discovered that Santa Paula Canyon in Los Padres National Forest has two amazing, naturally occurring water slides. We set off on the almost 9 mile round trip hike, with a 2000' elevation gain, on a partially unmaintained trail to see if we could quench our insatiable appetite for natural waterslides before Spring rolls around. In other words, we wanted to go early and avoid the rush! With all the recent rain Southern California has been getting, the scenery was lush and vibrant. There's nothing better than learning of a nearby natural waterslide and then having it all to yourself. This hike has three of my favorite things: slot canyons, waterfalls and natural waterslides.
