Late Autumn

This is the 12th instalment into my Piano Box series. That means Piano Box Volume One is complete! 12 tracks makes a set.

I'm mostly focussed on practicing the piano at the moment, but I've managed to nip a bit of time out of my schedule to make these, as I do enjoy making a new piano box video, it's quite a relaxing process. I had just finished a lecture at University last Thursday, and it was a calm late-morning in the late-Autumn. I found myself wandering around the Uni campus, capturing some of the beautiful scenes. I most taken by the Clocktower - it really makes Dunedin feel like a fantastical town.

I'll be focussed on my piano practice all throughout May, just while I am still busy with University, and so I'll make a few more of these over the next month. Come June, I'm on a break, and I'm planning on taking a trip away around the South Island. I'll capture heaps of beautiful scenic footage, and so will have a lot of ammunition to launch into Piano Box Volume Two, which is very exciting! This project has been a most joyous and spontaneous one - I started it mainly because I loved the quality of footage that my iPhone could capture, and so I started to film a lot of things. I find that when I compose music on the piano/keyboard nowadays, it's either very thorough, or too jazzy/neo-soul-ey/groovy, etc. This was a nice way to go back to my origins as a musician and compose more simple, melodic, ambient piano music.
