Joshua Trees Cut Down!?! (My thoughts while looking for a hidden waterfall)

I went looking for the hidden Mt. Lewis Falls last Saturday. On the way, I discussed my thoughts on the Joshua Trees that were recently cut down in Joshua Tree National Park during the government shutdown. This hike was right before dark and I wasn't quite geared up enough for a snow hike, but even though I didn't make it to the falls, I still enjoyed the stunning beauty of the high desert transition into the San Gabriel Mountains of Angeles National Forest.
