Loosen up to start your practice with this dynamic warm-up.
Use a half-court-sized space. Use four cones to mark two end lines, or use the side lines.
Here's how it looks. Line players up along one of the sides.
On your call, they start moving from one line to the other,
doing a different stretching exercise on each lap.
These will change depending on your team's age and experience.
All players should start things out by jogging.
Beginners can work their way up to high knees, leg pulls, and knee pulls.
Players looking for more of a challenge can try the mummy walk, the inchworm,
and progressive sprints, starting at 70% speed and building up to an all-out dash.
Warming up isn't anyone's favorite part of practice,
but it's essential in preparing the body to play.
The more they concentrate on proper form here, the more fun they'll have once the games begin.
