The Heirs (Korean: 왕관을 쓰려는 자, 그 무게를 견뎌라 – 상속자들), also known as The Inheritors, is a South Korean television series starring Lee Min-ho, Park Shin-hye, and Kim Woo-bin. Written by Kim Eun-sook, the drama is set in a high school populated by the privileged and uber-rich. It aired on SBS from October 9 to December 12, 2013.
This was the first Korean drama co-produced by American digital distribution platform DramaFever and Korean production company Hwa&Dam Pictures.
Due to its star-studded cast and writer Kim Eun-sook (who previously wrote Lovers in Paris, Secret Garden and A Gentleman's Dignity), international broadcasting rights were sold to 13 countries. It had the highest selling price in Japan among all the 2013 Korean dramas at US$30,000 for each episode. As of January 26, 2014, the series has garnered more than one billion views on Youku, China's biggest video streaming site.
Park Shin-hye is a South Korean actress and singer. She gained recognition as a child on TV shows such as Stairway to Heaven (2003), and Tree of Heaven (2006). Later on, she would achieve further success when she starred in the film Miracle in Cell No. 7, one of the highest grossing Korean films of all-time. Considered one of the most prolific actresses of her age Park has also received recognition for her roles in the romances You're Beautiful (2009), The Heirs (2013), Pinocchio (2014–2015), Doctors (2016), Memories of the Alhambra (2018–2019), and action thrillers #Alive (2020) and Sisyphus: The Myth (2021).
Park ranked 33rd in Forbes Korea Power Celebrity list in 2015, 12th in 2017, 40th in 2021, and 33rd in 2022.
Lee Min-ho is a South Korean actor, singer, model, creative director and businessman. He gained widespread fame worldwide with his role as Gu Jun-pyo in Boys Over Flowers (2009) which also earned him the Best New Actor award at the 45th Baeksang Arts Awards. His notable lead roles in television series include Personal Taste (2010), City Hunter (2011), Faith (2012), The Heirs (2013), The Legend of the Blue Sea (2016). In 2020 he starred in Studio Dragon's The King: Eternal Monarch, which grossed US$135 million. Apart from his television career, Lee featured in the first lead role in the film Gangnam Blues (2015). This was followed by his first China-produced film Bounty Hunters (2016), and the mini-romance-web-series Line Romance (2014), both collectively grossed US$51 million.
The success of Lee's television series established him as a top Hallyu star; he is the most followed South Korean actor on social media. Lee became the first Korean celebrity to have a wax figure made in his image at Madame Tussauds, with figures being unveiled in Shanghai in 2013 and Hong Kong in 2014. He earns US$2.5 million from product endorsements alone.............
Song Hye-kyo is a South Korean actress. She gained international popularity through her leading roles in the television dramas Autumn in My Heart (2000), All In (2003), Full House (2004), That Winter, the Wind Blows (2013), Descendants of the Sun (2016), Encounter (2018), Now, We Are Breaking Up (2021). Her film work includes Hwang Jin Yi (2007), The Grandmaster (2013), My Brilliant Life (2014), and The Queens (2015).
In 2017, Song Hye-kyo ranked 7th in Forbes magazine's Korea Power Celebrity list and 6th in 2018. She is referred to as one of "The Troika," along with Kim Tae-hee and Jun Ji-hyun, collectively known by the blend word "Tae-Hye-Ji". The success of Song's television dramas internationally established her as a top Hallyu star.....................
