Mercedes Brutal Sound Start up and Staggered Wheels Pirelli vs Michelin . My Mercedes came with Pirelli Run Flat Low Profile All Season Tires, but they were noisy as heck in the summer. I always used Winter tires and wheels with Studded tires. Believe it or not the winter tires and wheels were quieter on the car than the wide Pirelli summer tires. When the Pirelli finally wore out , I wanted a change so I switched to Michelin Super Sport Low Profile tires...they were really expensive, the 4 tires cost over $1500.00 ..but they were not much quieter, and they are not run flat.
