Nevada Ballet Theatre (NBT) Wardrobe Manager Chris Larson is back -- this time to discuss costumes for NBT's May 9 & 10 Season Finale of Coppélia, touted as ballet's greatest comedy and one of the top 10 must-see classical ballets of all time! Designed by Tony Award Winning Designer, Desmond Heeley, courtesy of the Houston Ballet, these hand-crafted costumes comprise lush fabrics and embellishments -- boasting a colorful aesthetic that is the result of special costuming techniques, such as hand-painting. Playing a vital role in the scenography of this production, these expertly-designed pieces will blend effortlessly with the lighting, sound and choreography to communicate the story of this 19th century classic --ultimately resulting in an amazingly authentic ballet.
