TESTED! RC Bearings | Standard | Stainless | Ceramic
I have never gone down this rabbit hole before!
Which one of these bearings really roll the best? Does it REALLY make a difference if they are ceramic? How about cleaning them and using a high speed bearing lubricant?
I have always been skeptical, but after my recent upgrade and bearing swap in my MST RMX2.0S drift car (video: https://youtu.be/sN5seflEkrI) it really got me thinking about these differences and how I can test them.
For this test, I had:
(1) set of metal shielded bearings from Amazon: https://amzn.to/31v1sBk
From Jim's Bearings (https://jimsbearings.com/)
(2) set of standard bearings with rubber seals
(3) set of stainless steel ball bearings with rubber seals
(4) set of ceramic ball bearings with rubber seals
To clean the bearings, I used mineral oil / paint thinner: https://amzn.to/3hBMLCg
For re-oiling, I used the Yeah Racing bearing oil that comes in this kit: https://amzn.to/2QuB04J
