But Christian Harvey are obviously one of the best in the game and he hopes to continue
to be that guy today against the Cubs.
Yeah, you're right, Julie.
He is one of the best in the league at getting those whip rates and I think it's interesting
that even though he falls behind early, he still gets back into these at-bats, still
can go out there and get the swing and miss.
Nick Madrigal is a guy, when you look at his skill set, back-to-ball skills, he's the type
of guy that can get on top of that high fastball hit.
Madrigal pops one high in the air, Maldy doesn't see it, but he doesn't need to worry about
it because Alex Bregman has it under control and he puts it away for the first out.
Here's Dansby Swanson.
First pitch swinging, Dansby Swanson, another pop-up and this ball will be taken care of
by Jeremy Paine in the middle of the diamond.
What a great start Christopher is off to offensively in six games, four home runs and nine runs
batted in.
1-2 to Morrell.
Swing and a miss, high fastball gets him and it's a 1-2-3 first for Christian Javier.
Justin Steele 6-0 with a 1.82 ERA, second best earned run average in the National League.
The 27-year-old left-hander goes fastball, slider and once in a blue moon a curveball
and a changeup.
DuBon had three hits last night, now with a six-game hitting streak going, hitting almost
400 during that stretch.
DuBon sends this one down the line and right it, it will be on the line.
That is a fair ball and that will be a double for Mauricio DuBon.
DuBon with another opposite field base hit, that's now 20 on the season, putting him in
the top five of the major leagues.
The Astros trying for another quick start for their third straight game, here's Alex
Bregman.
Bregman greets him with a high fly ball in the left center field, playable though.
Ian Happ to his left, DuBon's going to tag, he's going to get to third.
Nice job by Mauricio advancing 90 feet, he's over at third base with one out.
So one out and a runner at third, infield will stay back for Yordan Alvarez.
That one gets away, here comes DuBon trying to score safe, DuBon with a great break from
third, beats the throw from Tucker Barnhart and makes it a 1-0 game.
You've got to be able to anticipate, I would imagine that third base and playing well off
the line allows him to get a little bit bigger lead.
Great read by DuBon, just go ahead, commit, use the speed.
Ian at 3-0-3, mentioned earlier a 4-27 on base, that is fourth best in the big.
This ball, DuBon makes the play for the first out of the inning, here's Seyo Suzuki, swaying
a miss.
Javier making it look simple, he has picked up five outs of the first five batters he
has faced.
Mervis looking for that first big league home run, he's going to hit a bunch, still looking
for numero uno.
Mervis crushes one, right field of it's fair, it's gone, it's gone!
First major league homer for Mervis, and it's 1-1.
A screaming line drive, it hit about half way up on that foul ball and right, it might
have still been climbing when it clanked off the pole.
Somebody retrieve that baseball, a signature moment for young Matt Mervis.
Bregman flied out to left field his first time up, that one hits Alex, Alex down to
the ground as he is hit by that 1-1 pitch.
Caught that outside of the front foot, my goodness.
An athletic trainer and manager Dusty Baker out to take a look at Bregman, who's had his
hands on his knees for a second, and Bregman with walking slowly down the first baseline
with Jeremiah.
Jordan struck out his first time up.
Oh my goodness.
Drive to left field, all the way back, and that is off the top of the wall!
Bregman around third, he'll be waved home, the throw by Murrell will be cut off, Jordan
on an RBI double, gives the Astros a 2-1 lead.
Now it's Tucker, he flied out to center his first time.
This ball spoke to left, this ball is off the wall, knocks out part of the out-of-town
scoreboard, Jordan on a good read, he'll score.
Kyle Tucker, an RBI double, back-to-back RBI doubles from the lefties against the lefty
Justin Steele.
There's where the ball knocked out that panel on the out-of-town scoreboard.
Second out of the inning, Corey grounded out to third his first time up.
Jolts drives one to left center field, Corey Jolts has himself an RBI double, third RBI
double of the inning as Tucker scores.
It's now 4-1 Astros, most runs allowed by Steele this year.
Chas McCormick trying to add to the offense.
Instead, Chas sends one to right, pretty well hit, that's going to be off the wall.
McCormick going for second, Jolts will score another RBI double, the fourth RBI double
of the inning, and the Astros lead it 5-1.
Double after double, and doing it with two outs, more two out linings.
Here's Swanson, he's popped out and grounded out.
Swanson hits one high and deep to left center field, Jolts all the way back, so is McCormick.
Chas with a jumping catch at the wall!
Chas McCormick takes away extra bases from Swanson with a phenomenal play against the
left center field wall.
What a play by Chas, he fizzed bouncing after jumping up on that wall and making a great
play to pick up.
Javier Bala was up in the air for a long time, but he judged that jump beautifully going
into the pillar.
Mauricio Dubon will bat for a fourth time tonight.
Dubon, a double his first time up, he's one for three.
Punches this one into right center field, that'll be down for a hit.
Cut off there by Mora, six doubles, all their hits are doubles tonight.
And the Astros have two minutes scoring position with one out.
And Alex Bregman the batter.
Alex sends one to left field, deep enough you would think to score the run, making the
catch his half.
Maldy crosses the plate, that's a sack fly for Alex Bregman.
And the Astros lead this game six to one.
Now Yordan Alvarez bats.
Yordan, an RBI double in this game.
That ball is down the right field line, a base hit.
In the score comes Dubon.
Yordan with an RBI single, it's now seven to one.
Yordan with 39 runs batted in, playing in his 36th game of the year.
One more to go for Matt Gage.
Strikeouts continue to pile up in those two innings for Matt Gage and Phil Maton.
Morrell has struck out seven times in his last eight plate appearances.
High drive, fair ball down the line.
And that one getting into the corner.
Morrell into second.
And all of a sudden the Cubs are down to their last chance.
That one drilled left field and forget it, on its way and gone.
Bronsea Suzuki, a two run blast.
And it's seven three.
Patrick Wisdom is going to pinch hit for Miles Mastroboni.
Called third strike.
Astros win seven to three.
Astros now four games over 500 for the first time this year.
They have won three in a row.
