Hey guys and welcome to a new video.
Today is very exciting because we hit a hundred thousand subscribers.
Thank you so so much for being here.
And how would we better celebrate this occasion than with some pizza.
Some cheesy vegan pizza to be exact.
And yeah, here's the recipe.
Okay, it's the day before the pizza.
Grab a big bowl and in there combine some spelt flour, some whole wheat flour and some
sea salt.
Next up we're gonna measure the water.
And to a different, slightly smaller bowl we're going to add some dry active yeast,
agave syrup and the water.
Mix that all together and now pour the wet ingredients into the dry.
Combine the two components.
I first went in with a wooden spoon and then I used my hands because that's way easier.
You don't have to knead it all the way through, just for like two minutes or so.
That should be enough.
Then cover it up and let it sit in the fridge for 20 to 24 hours.
Now it's the next day and we want some pizza.
So first things first, we'll need some pizza sauce.
Just sauteing some garlic and onion.
Then adding to it some tomato paste, agave syrup and a can of diced tomatoes.
Then just let that cook for like 5 to 10 minutes or so until the raw tomato flavor dissolves
and then add in some fresh herbs.
Or skip that whole step and buy some pizza sauce.
Whatever you like.
Now onto the cheesy part.
This is not gonna taste 100% like cheese, quick disclaimer, but it's still gonna be
pretty good though so we're making it.
We'll first need some potatoes.
You're going to peel and dice them.
They're gonna be boiled until soft.
Next up we'll need some cashew nuts.
I let them soak in some hot water first, but then I realized that it's a whole lot easier
to just add the cashews to the potatoes that are boiling in the water.
So make sure to do that right away.
We're gonna cook the cashews and the potatoes for around 10 to 15 minutes or until the potatoes
are super soft and tender.
Now grab a high speed blender or a food processor.
To that we're going to add the cashews and the potatoes.
Some fresh lemon juice.
Some cornstarch or potato starch, whatever.
Also some nutritional yeast.
Also a cup of non-dairy milk.
I went for oat milk.
Some sea salt.
This might seem like a lot and it will taste pretty salty in the beginning but once that
goes onto the pizza it'll be totally fine.
And now we're bringing the whole thing together.
First take out the pizza dough.
Give it another 3 to 5 minutes of kneading.
Cut into four even pieces.
You can bake it on a normal baking or cooking sheet.
I use the bottom of a springform cake pan.
If you have a pizza stone, awesome.
Use that.
But then you already know how to do this, so yeah, go for that.
Flatten out the dough using your hands so that you get a pizza type shape.
As you can probably tell, I'm not a pizza expert.
Now to each pizza add a few tablespoons of the marinara sauce.
The cheese sauce goes on top of course.
And then I also added some frozen spinach.
This now goes into the preheated oven at 250 degrees Celsius.
The time may differ so keep an eye on it.
So this was pizza number one.
This turned out well but as you can see the spinach pieces kind of dried up.
So for pizza number two I made sure to add in the spinach halfway through the baking
process.
And this turned out pretty good.
This last pizza I kept plain, so just marinara sauce.
And then I finished everything off with some basil.
And also a sprinkle of oregano.
And that's it.
