梁铭越，作曲家、民族音乐学家、古琴及箫等多样乐器演奏家。第一位以古琴为研究题材取得博士学位的华人学者。曾任美国、加拿大及台湾多所大学音乐系教授。其创作领域涵盖管弦乐、中英文歌剧、室内乐、新世纪音乐、钢琴独奏等。曾获得金鼎奖、中山文艺奖、国家文艺奖等多个奖项。
