The Inside Guys React to Suns Wild Game 4 Win Over Nuggets | NBA on TNT

The Denver Nuggets hoping to take a 3 1 lead back to Denver and a chance to close out the Phoenix Suns but Devin Booker in company trying to knock this thing up in four games. Another word for on fire. It should be called Booker from now. No question. Oh he's talking of Booker after this from Jamal Murray. Oh you got to get his leg up but that's when he drives by you. That's it. That's what separates the money ability to drive by you and not just take the pull up heads up play right here after the made free throw two point seconds to go and look at the past to Durant who buries it at the horn. I mean you know the two games in Denver I felt their defense was great and we left it somewhere in the desert. I mean it's just it didn't it didn't arrive in Phoenix. And so going home that's got to be paramount. And if we're going to have a way to go up three to and you know and get control of the series once again it's got to start with defense and not just a bench unit. Vinny it's got to be everybody. I mean they're scoring too easy. I mean I scored one hundred and twenty nine points tonight on fifty seven from the field forty five from three. They got to the foul line twenty nine times. So we haven't taken anything away. So yeah the bench you know they have scored as 40 to 11 off the bench tonight. And again give Ross and Landry Shamit a lot of credit for they know how we're guarding those two players and they they made us pay for putting two on the ball. So we'll have to be able to guard those guys one on one at times and still mix that in. But starters bench whoever plays these man we have to have a much greater urgency on the defense event. You know I don't even think that underdog wouldn't even have to give us the final boxes when we know we're going to have a Michael Malone postgame because man he gives you all you need out of that box score. We can show you this. Jokic and Murray combining for eighty one Booker and Durant for seventy two in this offensive showcase in which Denver shot fifty six percent loss. Phoenix shoots fifty seven percent tying the series at two apiece and that bench number is huge. Landry Shamit with 19. They outscored Denver forty to eleven as Michael Malone pointed out. And you had said earlier Chuckster when you talked about hey look you're going to get big production out of KD and Booker at least get me twenty or so off that bench and they go for forty off the bench. Well give money credit for going to his bench. You know those guys NBA players also and the luxury they have playing with Booker and KD they're going to get wild on job shot. But you know you showed the stars the stars are holding their end of the bargain. It looks to me like you go back to Denver in Game 1 and Game 2. The bench guys won the game. You come for the same thing happened in Phoenix. The bench guys won the game tonight. So look like the stars are doing what they're supposed to. And whatever guys bench plays well. I mean think about it. They played a whole game and had four whole points in Denver. That's impossible. So the benches are going to be huge. Now the pressure switches back to Denver. So it's going to be a great series career postseason high for Landry Shammett with those 19. What was your biggest takeaway from this. Well that's why I'm always so high on the others. You know Coach Malone mentioned defense and listen Devin Booker and Kevin Durant when they get gone you're not going to stop them. However you can't get a guy like Landry Shammett. You know you previously said he had seven games seven points in the series. You can't let a guy like that get 19. But they play well at home. I know they do what they were supposed to do. And Denver just has to step it up. Now we have a series. Now we definitely have a series and this my camera. Devin Booker I'm sorry. I owe you an apology. I got on TV and say you will not go 20 for twenty five again. You mess around with 14 for 18 three of the four. So sir I apologize. Love the way you play. And again now we have a series thirty four for forty three in the last two games from the field for Devin Booker. That's that's two K. That's playing two K. That's cheat code stuff. Yeah. I mean his ability to score the basketball has never been a question. It's the pace of what I think Phoenix is doing right now. They're playing at a faster pace which and also he's the initiator. Down down in the beginning of the game. So he's the guy getting the ball and I say initiated for free throw line a free throw line just as much as Cameron Payne. So now he's pushing the basketball as Cady's running the lane. There was a play when Charles and I was in the back. I said Charles Devin Booker penetrates and they go help off a K.D. I know that was penetration of pitch like you're not leaving Kevin Durant. And I just think that there's a there's a guy that has to step up in terms of offensively. And he was mentioned as being an all-star this year. He had a great season. Aaron Gordon he is a guy that if you're Denver that has to really propel himself where we go. These three guys when Ernie Ernie comes on these three guys have scored this many points for it. And he has to be the third. It can't be Joker Murray. That's me. Joker Murray and Gordon. How about that. I don't think Porter is that he doesn't have the same offensive. He's a just a he's a Porter's a better scorer than Gordon. He is. But he has to get his shot on wide open shot. Right. Aaron Gordon's the energy guy. Kenny question. What about CP three. Well CP three when he comes back for me is he's the closer because when the game is in less when in a game that's particularly going to be five points or less he's going to play better than then. But what about the pace the pace of the game. He's got to realize and say at some point I got to figure out to play faster. Yeah. I think he he one thing he is is he has the ability to think it and do it possibly. But he has to play fast and he has to see that those guys are playing at an unbelievable pace because typically they don't want to. Because like I say he's been out the last two games and he probably starting to think about coming back now. Yeah. And he's going to say like oh man we need to play faster because when Katie and Devin they can get shots off quicker they don't have to go five on five. And I think he's so used to CP three is so used to getting guys a shot like I'm waiting on you. I'm waiting on you. Give it to you. He doesn't have to do that anymore. He can just get off the ball faster much faster with these two guys and let them play from free throw line to free throw line. One twenty nine one twenty four Phoenix Suns hold serve.
