Can I go? Can I go? No? We're good? Okay. So obviously I asked Steve Kerr about you being
the adjustment tonight and it paid off for the Warriors. Obviously you were able to shoot well
50 percent, 12 minutes, 15 points. He said that you've been through a lot this season and you
just persevered. One, speak to your play tonight and he said this was the series for you. What
does that mean to you? And then two, what does it mean to be able to do this after the year you've
had? It feels good to be able to do this after the year I had. It's been a rough one. I haven't
been through nothing like this before, but I just feel like this is a year of growth for me. I feel
like I can get through this. I can get through anything. So I just want to thank God for keeping
me with it and just staying ready. I'm glad I played well. I've been waiting on this moment.
I just want to show that I can help. I'm here to help the team. It was just big staying ready.
Are you surprised how open they're leaving? I mean a lot of guys, but even you? I really don't
care. They continue to do that. Keep us open. That's obviously why they made the adjustment
to get your shooting out there. Did you know going into the series that this
is a matchup that's conducive to you? They always tell me to stay ready.
They've seen this before and my time will come. First series, I was kind of struggling with it,
but we had a team meeting and Steph, he said some powerful words and it kind of got me locked in,
let go of everything and just all about the team. Jermichael, Draymond was saying that
he said you're a dog, which we heard that before, but when you knew you were going to start,
is there a different mentality there? It's playoff time, so it's already a different
mentality coming in. You just got to be physical. They'll let you play a little more,
bang a little more in the post. My mindset is just to hit. I just want to be physical out there
and just hit whoever comes through that line. What did you think after you guys lost game one?
Physicality. They punched us in the mouth first. AD had 30 and 20. We can't let that happen.
They were all players that got going. We knew coming in tonight that we had to step up the
physicality. Jermichael, here. Ruth for Sports Media. Going into a game like tonight after
losing game one and the adversity that comes with it, how do you prepare yourself mentally
for tonight to be able to make the impact that you did? It was a quick turnaround for game one.
The game schemes had to change. We were used to some things with sack. With the quick turnaround,
we would just organize a little bit sometimes. Having another day to watch film and understand
the team, I think it helped us out a lot. Jermichael, you just mentioned Steph's speech
last series and then staying ready. Obviously, it's easier said than done,
just with the emotions and wanting to be out there. Is there anything that you do specifically
to be able to stay locked in so you can have nights like these, whether it's taking your
focus away from basketball, maybe to decompress or anything? Just try to take my feelings out of it,
realize it's a business and we're a team. I don't want to come out and be selfish and
not buy into what the team got going. My whole thing was just letting everything go
and just be ready when my name called. Just stay in the gym, make sure I continue to get that
working. Jermichael, Steve Kerr has often said that that Klay 37-point quarter felt like a
religious experience for him. You're with Klay this year. When he goes off like he does and
makes a shot, runs to the corner, gets the crowd up in their timeout, what's that experience for
you as a teammate watching Klay do that? It's crazy for me on the bench. Man, some of the shots
he take, you'd be like, what? But then he'll knock it down. He knocking them down 70, 80%
of the time. It's crazy. Him and Steph, the way they shoot, man, I never seen it before.
Hey, Jermichael, over here. You mentioned not wanting to let AD get 30 and 20 again. Draymond
said he was disgusted with his own performance in game one defensively. He obviously came out
with a different energy tonight. What does it do for your team when you see Draymond playing with
that kind of force and physicality? He does it every game. Game in, game out. That's just what
we expect from him. He the horse for the team. He get us going. We feed off his energy. He just
did a great job tonight. Last game I went to him after the game and told him, you got to be more
aggressive. Don't forget who you are. You're in the league for a reason. He showed that tonight.
