You're into the quarter-finals here, but a real tough workout there against Ekaterina.
You must be very happy to come through it.
For sure. That wasn't an easy match.
In the second set, I hit a lead and I lost it.
For sure, it wasn't easy, but I'm pretty happy that I could reset.
On third, I was ready and I did a break pretty early.
Overall, I'm happy with the performance.
In that second set, you served for the match, of course, and couldn't quite pull it off,
but she won the tie-break.
Did you make a tactical adjustment in that third set, or was it just a total reset for you?
Well, maybe a little tactical adjustment, but not too much, honestly,
because I just felt like I kind of have to also wait for her mistakes.
In the second set, for sure, she played really precise and fast balls.
I kind of wanted to just continue with my game and be consequent and disciplined,
because in the first set, it worked, so I had to kind of combine these two things.
But on the other hand, for sure, I felt like my focus can be better,
so on third, I was really composed.
In our first Madrid quarterfinal for you, where you'll play Petra Martic,
what do you think about that match-up?
Well, she can really play well on clay, so I think it's going to be tough.
We also practiced. I did my first practice here against her,
so we'll see if we improve during the tournament.
And yeah, she's a really experienced player, so never an easy match on a quarterfinal,
so I'm just going to enjoy tomorrow and then get ready.
Well, yeah, well-earned day off tomorrow.
Yeah, exactly.
