Chinese Traditional Story: Entering Another Dimension While Collecting Herbs

During the time of Tang Gao Zong, a farmer was collecting herbs at the foot of Qing Cheng Mountain. One day, he was delighted to see a large shu yao, a present-day yam, and began to dig it up. He continued digging for almost 25 feet, yet he found that the root of the herb just kept getting wider, as wide as a big jar. The farmer thought, “If I can bring this home, it can feed my family for several meals!” He kept digging happily until he reached 60 to 70 feet, but still no sign of the end. Then the soil began to cave in. Suddenly he tumbled into a deep pit, over 100 feet down. When he looked up, the opening was as small as a star in the sky. The farmer thought he would die inside this hole.
