Hello everyone and welcome back to my YouTube channel.
Today I'm going to be sharing my spring capsule wardrobe with you.
Spring has finally sprung in the UK and in London and I am super excited about it.
This capsule wardrobe is going to be based around a neutral minimal classic style
and it includes approximately 25 pieces. It is quite an extensive capsule wardrobe
but it's not strict so it's not to say you need all of these pieces but hopefully it will give you
some ideas on outfits and some key staple pieces that might be missing from your spring wardrobe.
So get yourself a coffee or tea or a wine and let's get comfortable.
This video builds on from my previous video of spring staples to give you a more complete view
of a spring capsule wardrobe and the key pieces that I tend to reach for throughout the spring
season so if you haven't seen that one go back and check that one out as well.
I'm going to share each item in turn and show you a different way to style the item
as well as a lookbook throughout the video so there'll be lots of different spring outfit
combinations and ideas so without further ado let's get into it.
Starting with a new piece in my wardrobe from Zara. This is trending right now and having a
spotlight moment but they are also a classic and timeless piece, cropped boucle jackets and I know
I'm going to be wearing this throughout spring. The neutral colour makes this an easy item to
style whether it's with black leather trousers here or jeans or tailored trousers. I adore the
boxy structure to this jacket, it looks chic and it can be worn for every day but equally it would
work for smart casual workwear and a small tip, short jackets will make you appear taller and
slimmer because they show more of your legs and your torso. I love wearing cropped jackets because
they don't overwhelm my petite five foot three frame. Next we have a neutral blazer, this is a
great staple to have, this blazer is from Arquette and it's their iconic hopsack wool blazer. The
quality is definitely superior, this is priced at the higher end of the high street and with items
like blazers if you invest in a better quality piece it's going to last for years to come. Many
of the items I'm showing here are not brand new like this blazer and this is because they're
timeless quality pieces that I can bring out again every year. One of my favourites for spring is a
cream blazer, this will brighten up your outfit giving a fresh lift for spring. One way I'll be
styling this blazer on repeat is with a white vest and blue jeans with tan accessories. The tan belt
and bag adds a lovely contrast to the cream and I love pairing cream and tan together for spring
summer. A cream blazer is chic and classic and it's a great piece to wear in the evening for more
dressed up outfits or if you're going on a city break and it's a bit chillier in the evening.
This blazer is old from Zara however they always have similar this time of year and with all items
shown I'll provide the item or similar alternatives in the description box. A trench coat, one of the
most hard-working pieces in my wardrobe for spring and absolutely a spring essential. This trench is
from And Other Stories, it's definitely worth spending a little more on a trench coat for better
quality and one that will last for years to come. There are so many different styles of trench coats
out there which is great because you can find something that fits your personal style and your
body type. I love the oversized fit of this trench coat, the exaggerated lapel collar and the buckle
detail on the sleeves. A trench coat is super versatile and can be worn for work as I've styled
here with a striped shirt and black trousers but it can also be worn more casually. It's a staple
that also isn't just limited to spring, I wear a trench coat in summer on chilly evenings and
throughout autumn as a layering piece. I also couldn't not include a black blazer, it's a staple
for all year around but I definitely reach for it in spring whether that's for work wear or wearing
it with a nice blouse or a corset for date night. There are just so many ways to wear a black blazer
and it's a great staple to have in your spring capsule wardrobe. Next we have a denim jacket,
a more casual jacket style and a staple I wear on repeat throughout spring. I think a denim jacket
is a more cool piece and I always feel a little bit more trendy when I wear a denim jacket. You
could go for a boxy one or an oversized or a crop style depending on your preference but there are
so many great ways to wear a denim jacket for spring and then into summer. A biker jacket is
another more casual jacket that I reach for often in the evenings to go with a date night or dinner
outfit but also so easy to wear during the day styled more casually with a white tee and denim
jeans. I find that a biker jacket adds an edge to your outfit, probably one to wear on the weekend
if you're in a corporate environment. Again this is a spring staple that is here to stay,
it's not going out of style and most likely you already have one in your wardrobe already.
And next we have a cardigan, it can still be chilly in spring and so a cardigan is a great
layering piece that's practical to keep you warm and is super chic. This one is from And Other
Stories, it's a lovely oatmeal colour with brown chunky buttons which goes so well with my neutral
colour palette. The next item is a striped knit, this knit is giving nautical vibes which is always
trending during spring summer. Stripes are a great way to add interest to outfits especially when you
have more of a minimal aesthetic and don't tend to wear that many patterns or colours. This knit
would also be great as a layering piece, it's from Arquette, I've had it two years now and they bring
it out every year because it's such a great classic style and super chic. And now moving on to tops,
a heavyweight white t-shirt is a spring essential for me. I've talked about these before and the
best ones are from Arquette and COS, both are really great quality, they feel more luxe, they don't crease
as easily and they wash really well compared to thin white t-shirts. Another style of t-shirt I
like to wear to jazz up an outfit is a striped tee. I don't particularly love patterns or florals within
my style so a stripe is as far as I'll go and it's a printed pattern that is timeless and you won't
get bored of. This is the same t-shirt as the white heavyweight one but in the stripe and it's from
COS stores. I've had this one now for three years and they still have the same one every year.
Tank tops or vest tops are a great base layer item that are an absolute must in my spring wardrobe.
I've been wearing them throughout this video and as you can see you can wear them in so many
different ways. With tank tops and vests I do suggest trying on a few from different stores
and seeing what style works best for you. With these style of tops it is also great to have them
in a couple of different colours. I have a new tank top in my wardrobe from Under the Stories
and it's a lovely ribbed thick knit and it's great because I can wear it normally with the
scoop neckline or turn it around and create a chic high neck. This also comes in cream and
I've been wearing both on repeat recently. Next we have a blue and white striped shirt,
a spring classic piece. I always feel chic and put together when wearing a shirt like this.
At the same time it's more laid back than wearing a white crisp shirt with the blue stripes and the
colour and it's a great nod to spring bringing in some blue colour that works well with the neutral
colour palette. Next is a pair of blue jeans. I love wearing these casually during spring.
I've gone with these wide leg high-waisted jeans from New Look but your preference should depend
on the style of jean that works best for you and you feel most comfortable in, whether that's a
straight leg, high waist or mom style. A piece I love for spring are ecru or off-white jeans.
These will help brighten up your outfit and give more of a spring feel while also looking
super chic and makes a change to blue jeans or darker trousers. Next we have white wide leg
trousers. I wear these on repeat throughout spring summer. I find this high waist wide leg style is
flattering on most people. White trousers look chic and fit so well with neutral tones, whether
it's black, tan or blue stripes. Neutral trousers are also a great addition. These are from Zara.
They are a light beige tone although they are coming off slightly lighter in the video.
Again you can tailor the fit and style to your preference and what you prefer to wear. I do think
it's good to have a variety so having white trousers, neutral trousers and black trousers
on hand when you're putting together your spring outfits. Black trousers are stable for all year
round. Wanted to include them in the spring capsule wardrobe too. Works so well with a neutral blazer
or white blazer or with a trench coat for work and goes with all of the options of jackets that
have already been mentioned. Leather trousers are one of my favourite wardrobe staples. They are
great for spring but they also work throughout the other seasons too. These ones are faux leather
from Forever The New and I really like the straight leg high waist style. Faux leather trousers are
more comfortable to jeans and you can wear them casually but they're also a really great piece to
wear into the evenings for date night or dressier occasions and they add an edge to your spring
wardrobe. A satin midi skirt is a piece I wear a great deal during spring and also summer.
It lightens up an outfit and makes a change to wearing trousers as well as looking classic and
timeless. Great for dressing up in the evenings but you could also style more casually with a denim
jacket and converse. There are so many different ways you can wear a satin midi skirt. I've picked
a cream midi skirt but black or navy would also work really well in a spring capsule wardrobe.
Now on to shoes. I definitely include a pair of white trainers. These are the VEA trainers with
black and white and then my trusty converse. You can see that these are so well worn. I should
probably give them a little bit of a clean and these are the platform style which give me a
bit of extra height. Next are cream slingback shoes which provide a great classic shoe to wear
which you can wear for the evening but also for smart casual daytime occasions. Tan accessories
work so well for spring and I absolutely love this Isabel Marant knot belt. I've had it since
last year and I also have it in black. It also goes so well with a tan bag. This one is from
Polen Paris and it has so much space which is really practical for every day. If you haven't
checked out the bags from Polen Paris I would absolutely recommend. They have so many gorgeous
unique yet classic and timeless designs and all of the bags are handcrafted and made from real
leather. A white bag is a must-have for spring summer and offers something a little bit more
unique. White bags can elevate any outfit and they offer an eye-catching and contemporary element
to looks. White also goes with everything so it's so easy to pair with your different outfits
whether that's for daytime or evening and they look classic and polished and you can't go wrong
with a black bag. This for me is a staple throughout the seasons but also works so well in spring.
And let's not forget jewellery. I love wearing gold chunky and intricate designs to elevate an
outfit. For me an outfit isn't complete unless you have some kind of jewellery on to really pull the
look together. So that's my spring capsule wardrobe. Thank you so much for watching. I really hope you
