Rays vs. White Sox Game Highlights (4/28/23) | MLB Highlights

Lucas G Alito going to the mound and last three times out he's thrown it pretty well he's on for his sixth start he's looking for his second win is he already a four and a half hit here is Yandy Diaz to lead it off to get this one started that's a line shot back into left Ben intend he's going to watch it sail over his head couple of hops to the wall and Yandy Diaz moves into second with a double to begin this game you know the lone left hand batter in the lineup switch hitter Wanda Franco there's strike three on the corner of fastball good pitch by Lucas he threw it exactly where he wanted it here's Randy Rosarito the Rays RBI leader that's a liner into left Diaz will go to third they're going to hold him there first and third now with one out well there's Brandon Lowe after the first pitch he pops it into short center and that's going to be Sosa out there to make the catch and now second base not covered down to second base goes a Rosarito and on the throw there the Rays will get a run as Yandy Diaz crosses the plate one nothing Rays in the first twenty nine year old Zach Eflin three and all with a two a one ERA and just as many starts so far this year it'll be Andrew Ben intend he to lead it off on the ground second base Brandon Lowe throws him out and the Rays continue to get groundball outs from the mound Andrew Vaughn the batter playing first base this pitch is blasted by Andrew Vaughn deep left field we are tied just like that Andrew Vaughn hits his second boy difficult hitting conditions or not he sat on a pitch got the barrel going and did not miss a fastball that was cutting slightly right down the middle of the plate beautiful swing and result for Vaughn and Luis Robert gets hit any reason for that that seemed like a miss that Eflin doesn't normally have and the White Sox are pretty upset they are screaming at Zach Eflin and Yandy Diaz is motioning toward the dugout the way it looked it was as if it was right at Robert the party was on in the dugout and then suddenly everybody's like wait what's going on here and now Pedro Pedro Garfield just got thrown out of the game by Marvin Hudson again again he got thrown out yesterday because he was arguing he had more time to execute a challenge and today he gets thrown out by the same guy there you go Pedro get your money's worth Pedro that was a quick hook opportunities here for the Sox early haven't batting two eighty nine with two home runs on the ground first base side Diaz to second to get one the pass to first is a double play Eflin got over there to cover Berger leading the team and home runs got six home runs already this year Berger in the right here to left field and a Rosarito has no play it is gone you make a mistake on Jake Berger here in this ballpark and it's going to cost you that was a hanging cutter Jake is swinging the bat too well now to make this kind of mistake and now some more discussion at the plate Seve Zavala talking to Bethencourt a lot of extra curriculars going on Zavala out reaching on the breaking ball one up and one down for the race to one is we're in the fourth as he socked Paredes batting right up the right side that ball is going to be in there for Radies will turn first head to second base sheets backhands it out of the corner and it's a stand up double for each sock parade he's too gone for Manuel Margot and there's a base hit in the left field parade he's going to be waved around he's going to score that will tie the game as Manuel Margot comes through it's two to two so three on with one out and the batter is Sosa who's 0 for one 20th pitch of the inning and a swing and miss he gets a big strikeout he comes with the curve ball at seventy seven miles an hour and Sosa just cannot sit back long enough as the lefty Benintendi and a ground ball that's going to be handled by Brandon La Tosta first and the Rays get out of that still tied it to the sock parade this will bat with two outs it's a line drive going to be fair back toward the corner Benintendi will keep it out of the corner for Radies digging for to the throw off line and a stand up double his second double tonight for Radies the runner at second swing and a miss on a slider strike three inning over and the Sox will bring the infield in with one out and the batter Taylor Wals so you get him out in the zone and strike three with a high fastball and threw it right by him biggest pitch of the ball game for Lucas that will be all for Lucas G Alito tonight I think Lucas grinding away at his glove wanted to stay in this and Lucas gets a well deserved hand from this crowd he did a whale of a job and Reynaldo Lopez will face Wander Franco with a runner third in a two to tie we're in the seventh inning in the air left field Benintendi on the move Ben Benintendi has it in foul territory and the move by Charlie Montoya pays off Franco is over for it is stretch time and guaranteed right field Lucas your thoughts he's a percussionist now and here is Berger who homered his first time up I fly ball Rosarito at them he leaves Randy Rosarito right back in front of the wall makes a leaping catch and instead of being a one run lead it's still tied at two. And here we go to the ninth inning and there's a high shot deep to Rady's has hit it out a pitch for Rady's third hit of the night and the Rays lead three to two Fairbanks has thrown twenty nine consecutive scoreless innings going back to the end of July last year and a ground ball hits his foot he'll pick it up and make the throw the first one away. Now they're coming out and you could see right here you ask him how he right there he says fine and then you wonder like right here take it that look everybody look it down Kevin Kelly will take over for Pete Fairbanks with two men on here with two men out. It just popped on the infield that's Franco Rays win it Roberts pops out Franco makes the catch and the Rays will win this one three to two on the ninth inning home run by Isak Peretti's they have beaten Chicago in all five games that they've played this season the Rays win it in Chicago and run their record to twenty two and five on the year.
