How about this Chuckster?
Just 1103 Eastern Time here in Atlanta.
Hey, 1130, Kenny?
Let me calculate it.
That's fine.
It's one game.
I know, but we've got four segments.
We've got content.
We've got things to do.
We've got things to talk about.
Just relax.
Y'all act like 11 o'clock is early.
It'll be fine.
11 o'clock at night is still late.
Hey, Kenny, 1130, we're walking out of here.
Man, how old are you getting to be?
11 o'clock at night is still late.
How about your Boston Celtics tonight,
getting it done on the road?
Impressive.
The best team won.
You know, they screwed around the other night.
It was lollygagging.
Lollygagging?
Yeah, and Trey went crazy down the stretch.
But they had a better team.
And now the fun starts.
11-0 run in the fourth quarter.
Critical in this one for the Celtics
as we get to the highlights of game six in Atlanta.
Trey Young coming off that game winner
in a 38-point night in game five.
Forcing this game six.
Jason Tatum takes DeAndre Hunter.
That's Charles Barker-like defense.
Just let him go by you.
Boston with an early six-point lead.
They would lead by 10 in the first quarter.
And Trey starts lighting it up.
He had 18 in the first quarter, Shaq.
Yeah, he played great.
You know, superstar, played great.
Didn't have a good second half, but this half right here,
he was on fire.
Fire.
One-point game after one.
Celtics on top.
Jalen Brown in the paint, spinning and hitting.
Oh, man, I love watching this kid right here.
Bogdan Bogdanovich.
Off glass.
And then Trey.
Pass.
You out.
Hawks 60-53.
But here comes the Celtics.
Yes, here comes Tatum with the euro.
And Jalen Brown from deep.
Yeah, Celtics won two points.
Had the perfect game.
One had 30, one had 32.
68-67, Celtics at the break.
Malcolm Brogdon, sixth man of the year.
Little floater.
DeAndre Hunter launching for three.
And then DeJounte Murray scoreless in the first half.
Had 14.
DeJounte Murray did in the second half.
Tatum.
Can't let the man dribble around the trap.
That's one of the most useless double teams I've ever seen.
In the history of the game.
How about that by Fogey?
They're riding the seesaw down there at State Farm.
15 ties, 22 lead changes.
It was a heck of a game.
Yeah, John Collins there for three.
But this guy was pretty good.
Jason, I mean, Jalen Brown.
His ability to score from the outside, the perimeter, get by you.
Hit timely big shots.
As part of that 13-0 run.
This was an awful use of a talent right here.
Yeah, Joe Mizzoula challenging that.
It was ruled out of bounds off the Celtics.
Challenged unsuccessful.
Oh, man.
You know what's amazing?
You think about air exposure.
You saved that challenge.
It was a big difference in that game.
Yeah, Jim Jackson mentioned that in doing the telecast.
Yes, he turned out to be inconsequential in this one.
Look at the block there by Jalen Brown.
Timely.
Timely big plays, Arnie.
Give me that!
Orford off the mark with a great follow by Tatum.
Way to find.
Smart.
Yes.
Austin opens it up to an eight-point lead.
Atlanta not going quietly.
Hunter cans the three.
Makes it a five-point gain.
And then smart.
He's got room.
He passed the last two.
Took it to the rim himself.
Trey Young couldn't find a rim at all in the fourth quarter.
And then you had this.
This was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen in my life.
You're going to have the Celtics wearing cups, man.
Ernie, they were talking about how hard this ball.
It ain't that damn hard.
It ain't that damn hard to get a ball inbounds from the corner.
Please stop it, guys.
It's impossible, Chuck.
I've never seen it happen in an NBA game.
I've never seen anybody throw the ball in.
Like three times?
No.
And then eventually just threw it over everybody and out of bounds.
Ernie, you sit back there.
They were talking about how hard it is to get the ball.
It ain't.
I've never seen.
It's the hardest thing ever inbounds.
It's hard if you're five-foot-one taking the ball.
Yeah, that was a thing that was stupid.
Well, then they switched the inbounder.
I know.
But I'm saying, why do you have a little leprechaun
throwing that ball in in the first place?
Boston Celtics win it 1-28 to 1-20.
They win the series four games to two.
Tatum and Jalen Brown, you know,
they went for 30-plus in the same game for the first time in the postseason
the other night.
They do it again tonight combining for 62.
Marcus Smartfig with 22 off the bench.
Saw Horford hitting a big three.
Spent his first nine years with the Hawks
and helps knock the Hawks out of the first round.
1-28 to 1-20.
What did you think, Shaq?
Oh, the Hawks played hard.
You know, I think if Trey would have had a more decent second half,
they definitely could have won the game.
Yeah, one for 13 in the second half.
You know, we always marvel over anybody's one-two punch.
And the one-two punch for the Boston Celtics did what they were supposed to do.
One had 30, one had 32, and the others played well.
Horford hitting that shot, timely shot,
reminds me of the days of Big Shot Bob and B. Shaw and Rick Fox.
They're always there when you need them.
He didn't really get a lot of shots, but Marcus Smart knew he was going to be there,
had the confidence to throw it to him,
and it was a timely shot that knocked down.
After he hit that three, I knew the game was over.
Let's hear from Joe Mazzula, the Celtics head coach.
We had the proper spacing, we made the proper reads,
and definitely different from Game 5.
I thought Smart was tremendous, especially late in the fourth quarter.
You know, he got us organized, and then he was kind of the trigger man
because of their hits and their blitzing, and he just made the right play.
Yeah, you guys were kind of trying to do the short roll
whenever they were showing two on the ball last game,
and they were able to kind of squeeze you guys so you couldn't get it through.
What did you adjust to tonight to be able to get through?
We didn't adjust as much as we just passed the ball to the open guy.
And so, you know, I thought we made timely passes,
and I thought Smart made timely rolls and timely decisions at the rim.
And Jason and Jalen did a great job of baiting those two-on-ones,
keeping their poise.
Bobby DeVira.
Joe, Al, it was going to be, you know, a battle.
And a lot of plays made, you know, on both sides.
Obviously Tatum and Brown were a handful, which, you know, we expect.
And blitzed their pick and roll.
We hit them from the, you know, high quadrant
and hit them on the dribble, hit them on the pass.
And, you know, when we didn't, they were able to make plays.
And when we did, you know, you're susceptible to the three.
And, you know, we had some success in all those situations when they missed.
But they had some guys hit some big shots as well.
But we were right there.
So it's a tough game.
They were right there, but an 11-0 run,
and talking about being susceptible to the three in Boston,
hit 18 of them tonight, Chuck.
Yeah, you know, you can say what you want to.
The best team won.
Boston's got a terrific team.
They are the favorite in the Eastern Conference right now.
And they've got home court throughout.
Throughout.
I mean, losing Milwaukee, that's going to be a terrific series
between them and my Sixers.
Joel's going to dominate,
but it's going to come down to the perimeter players
because Joel's going to do what he does.
He's probably going to win MVP, deservedly so.
He's going to be playing this series with a brace on his knee.
Yeah, but hey, all hands on deck, brother.
They're not here.
But it's going to come down to Tobias Harris, Maxie, and James Harden.
Those three guys are going to have to play a couple of them defensively.
I would think defensively against Tatum and Brown.
Well, but I'm saying, though, like, you've got to figure out because
and you've got to score, obviously.
It's a simple game, but who are they going to put on Tatum?
Who are they going to put on Brown?
I would say Tobias Harris is going to guard Tatum,
and then Maxie will probably guard Brown.
T-2 Little.
Which other alternative?
I'm saying that's going to be the problem for my Sixers.
First of all, you can't guard those guys.
I mean, I like Tobias Harris.
He's not going to stop either one of those guys.
But they don't have a matchup for the other guy.
That's the problem they got.
So, the only caveat, and I think James is going to have a tough time
with Marcus Smart because he's not getting by people anymore.
James is not getting by people.
He's to the point where.
With regularity.
He's getting by, but not with regularity.
James is not getting by anybody right now.
He's shooting step-back threes.
Jeremy, you got that look-ahead graphic on the Celtics
and the Sixers for that series?
Throw that thing up there as we'll take a gander.
Celtics taking three out of four.
So, the teams that opened the season against each other back on October 18th
when Tatum had 35-12 and Harden had 35-8-7
will now meet in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Celtics and Sixers, 21 meetings in the postseason.
Boston winning 14 of those.
They had last met in the bubble with the Celtics sweeping the Sixers
What do you make of it, big fella?
Big fella wearing the knee brace concerns me.
Boston will definitely be a lot more motivated.
Listen, Hawks only got to worry about one guy.
Kind of tough to get them out.
I think they took them lightly.
The Hawks played well, but Joel Embiid, the MVP,
they're definitely going to be up for them.
James Harden, all those guys are definitely going to be up.
I don't think it's going to be an easy series for either team,
but big guys wearing knee braces, that concerns me.
If I was them, I'd put them in pick-and-roll all day, every day,
test that knee out.
And then he has trouble guarding Horford.
He really does.
Not that he's guarding him.
He has to help.
They kick it out to Horford.
Every time Horford plays against Embiid, he has a big game.
In their last meeting in April, Embiid 52-13-6.
What are you thinking about the Sixers and Celtics?
My Sixers and my Celtics?
As much as we're talking about, again, and that's where I was going on,
and it's funny you said that, how to guard Brown and Tatum.
I don't think there's anybody who can guard Embiid.
And so now you have to double on a lot of occasions,
and that's what frees Maxie Tobias Harris.
Which we saw in the Brooklyn series time and time again.
For open shots.
They're not going to double him.
They're going to let him get 52.
Yep.
They're going to let him.
I said that last series.
Well, I don't know what the hell Brooklyn was doing,
but they just let the whole house burn down.
They had fires going everywhere.
So you let him get 52 points.
You're not going to win a game with 52?
I actually watched that game.
Demi Butler did.
Yeah, but that's a different animal.
This team got better players than the Bucs do, other than Giannis.
Wow.
They do.
If Giannis doesn't get hurt, they're Embiid champions.
I'm not saying that, but I'm saying Boston,
well, we don't know that, but I'm saying.
They've done it already.
Yeah, but that was in the past.
We're living right now in the present.
You don't think that was a championship team?
I thought they were, but they clearly not.
All right.
But I'm telling you, with Tatum and Brown, they are better.
You take away Giannis,
they're better than anybody by far that the Bucs got.
Not even close.
128-120.
That's your final score.
Boston in six over Atlanta.
Chuck can spell any word with the word team.
That's pretty funny, Nick.
Papa Demetrio.
Trio.
You got it right the first time.
That was good.
Watching Chad give CPR.
Hawk work.
It was dodgeball.
Dodge a wrench, dodge a ball.
When we come back,
we'll revisit the comments Giannis made last night
after the Bucs were KO'd by the Heat.
