Welcome everyone to Chicago's South Side.
We are getting ready for game one of a four-game weekend series.
It's the Rays against the struggling Chicago White Sox.
The tenor of the teams are so different right now.
I mean, the Rays still feel very good.
They're 20-5 this year.
And the White Sox, who have lost seven in a row a winless road trip,
I get the sense of panic coming from their side of the bucket.
Dylan Cease leading his team onto the field.
Dylan Cease just faced the Rays in his last outing.
Two wins, no losses, a 2-7-3 ERA.
Remember the game he pitched opposite Shane McClanahan,
the Rays won in walk-off fashion.
So he bloops single for Franco.
He's aboard with one out.
That brings up Randy Orozarena.
Throw to first. They got him.
He is out. Franco is down.
And they want to take another look at it to see if he got in under the tag.
It was a great move by Dylan Cease.
He gets it over there in time, and no, he is tagged on the shoulder
before the hand gets back in.
They're not going to bother looking at it when they take a look at that.
So that's the second out.
That's in there. He laid in a slider for strike three,
and he locked up Orozarena.
First strikeout for Cease, and the Rays do not score.
A hit, nobody left. We head to the bottom of the first.
Can Shane McClanahan be any better swing-and-miss-wise
than he was the last time out against Chicago?
32 swings and misses in six really good innings.
Hopefully he's just able to give his team a really good chance to win,
which he seems to do every time out.
Shane comes into the game 4-0. The team has won all five of his starts.
Oh, and there's strike 397 right at the bottom of the zone.
Watch the walk-off.
Shane McClanahan dropping the mic.
I mean, he knew it. Watch.
Yeah, that's called. I'm out.
After an inning, Rays and Sox are scoreless.
Lowe, Paredes, and Lowe do up
against the very talented right-hander.
Two and two the count, and Lowe evens it.
That's a shot toward right center.
Going to be in there for a base hit.
It will get by Kolats. Extra bases.
Now it's bobbled a little bit on the carom,
and Brandon's going to go for three,
and he's in there standing up all the way to third for Brandon Lowe.
It gets right by Kolats, and it gets by Robert Junior.
And how about the fact that Brandon Lowe,
not only a triple, a stand-up as he eases into third base.
Here's Paredes, runner at third with nobody out.
And a lighter base hit out of the reach of Berger
and into left, and the Rays break out in front.
And that did not take long.
All we really had to do was mention their scoreless streak.
Well, Isak Paredes to the pole side,
and just enough to get it over the outstretched glove of Jake Berger.
First and second for Luke Raley.
Raley, a go-ahead home run on Sunday.
Paredes at second. Lowe is at first.
And up the alley into right center field.
Extra bases coming here for Raley.
Paredes will score. They're going to send Lowe to the plate.
The throw on its way will not be in time.
Josh scores standing on the double by Raley.
And the Rays have jumped to a 3-0 lead.
That one stayed in the middle of the plate, and Raley ripped it.
Three runs on four hits, no errors.
Two left after an inning and a half.
Tampa Bay three, White Sox nothing.
Berger draws the leadoff walk.
Second walk issued by McClanahan.
They were two out, and Berger still at first.
Now this pitch into right center field.
That's a hit all the way to the wall for Lenine Sosa.
Here comes a run. Berger scores.
And the Sox are on the board at 3-1.
Jake Berger was off to the races.
I mean, Jake was flying around third base.
First run of the ballgame for the Sox, and it's a two-run deficit.
It's 3-1 Tampa Bay after two.
Brandon started the three-run rally with a triple his first time up
that was mishandled by both Colas, the right fielder,
and Robert Jr., the center fielder.
Went to the wall.
This one is skied back into right.
Colas will go to the wall.
That's going to carry and get out of here.
Brandon Lau on a 3-2 pitch.
Got into that one.
Hit it a mile high with a lot of carry and out.
He finally says enough with this breaking ball stuff,
and he absolutely swatted that ball.
I mean, it may have been as high as it was far.
Lau did take C.D. for one race.
Jake Berger in the box.
Third baseman batting right.
Jake Berger got out on that ball and lines it to left.
It's gone.
Berger rips it around the foul pole,
and a laser gives the Sox run number two.
That's homerun number six.
Jake is driven at 11.
That was a real interesting swing by Jake Berger.
Showed you just how strong he is because he didn't seem to get a whole lot of it,
but he got enough of it.
Well, we got a new celebration.
We got a jacket.
We got a hat.
Yeah, I mean, that's good.
Berger with a homerun.
It's 4-2 Tampa Bay after four.
Now you got two on and nobody out.
Rays lead 4-2 in the fifth.
Randy just missed a homerun to right his last time.
And a ball four.
The bases are loaded.
And they're loaded with nobody out,
and now you have a guy who has homered and tripled so far in this game,
Brandon Lau.
And up the middle.
A base hit into center.
Yandy Diaz will score.
Franco heads to the plate.
Up to second base goes Arosa Reyna.
And Brandon Lau is having himself a night in Chicago.
And the Rays lead it 6-2.
That might be the knockout blow for Dylan Cease.
Brandon Lau's been a one-man wrecking crew tonight.
Dylan Cease's night is done after four-plus innings.
Two balls, one strike.
Two parades.
And Bummer deals.
Swing and a ground ball.
Hits off of Bummer.
Goes to third.
Berger with a barehand pickup and throw to first in time for the out.
But Arosa Reyna scores, and the Rays lead is 7-2.
Run batted in for Paredes.
Three more for the Rays here in the fifth.
And up comes Wander who gets a chance at that right-handed now.
Two hits and a run scored tonight for Wander Franco.
He's got Rayleigh at second and Mejia at first.
The left-hander throws.
Swing grounded to first and off the mid of Vaughn.
It goes down to shallow right.
Around third, Rayleigh heads for home, and he will score.
Stomping at second, Mejia, and the Rays lead is 8-2.
And an error.
No RBI for Wander.
That's the first official error for Chicago,
but that's their fourth misplay, I think.
Rays now lead by their largest margin of six.
And the bases are loaded.
They're all filled up for Isak Paredes, and he's having a big night.
The one-two pitch, and he shoots it up the left field line.
Down into the corner it goes.
Mejia scores.
Franco scores.
They're going to wave loud of the plate, and the throw is going to be late.
He slides across safely on the two-base hit by Paredes.
He drives in three with that double.
Now has a five RBI night, and the Rays have an 11-2 lead.
Another hard hit ball by the Rays here tonight down into the corner,
and that's going to clear them.
But they put up five and now lead 12-2 in the sixth.
One out here in the seventh inning with the Rays on top, 12-2.
Top of the order.
Here's Diaz.
Yandy sends a fly ball into right center.
Colas on the move, and that ball will carry out out of here
to the opposite side.
Home run number seven for Yandy Diaz.
That ball just would not come down.
Thirteen runs, thirteen hits for the Rays.
All Tampa Bay tonight, 13-3 the lead over the White Sox as we start the night.
Luke Raley part of the second inning when the Rays broke open the scoring.
He hammers this one back into center field,
and that ball is way out of here as Luke Raley hits his fifth home run of the year.
Raley really banged that one over 400 feet.
Oh, yeah, and that pitch was just off the edge of the outside corner.
A big offensive night for the Rays now, 14 runs, 15 hits.
