Contreras will take the mound
coming off a real strong start
his last time out in St. Louis
when six gave up a couple of
earned runs struck out six
digging in Jonathan India to get
things started.
Lifted right side.
Carlos Santana TJ Friedel who's
been on the base and 15 of 16
that looked like it had some
kind of movement tying up
Friedel two men around and now
the batter is Spencer Steer.
It's this high in the air to
left center into the sun
Reynolds and a good start for
Ron see Contreras the twenty
nine year old Luke Weaver makes
his Reds debut.
He's had a lot of injuries last
few years really hasn't had a
good full season in about three
or four seasons.
So this is a good chance for him
to kind of rejuvenate his
career.
Hayes who has settled in nicely
as the leadoff man for the
pirates chop left side and
that's going to get through.
They want to try and pick up
where they left off yesterday.
Here's Brian Reynolds and a
four pitch walk following the
ground single by Hayes.
It brings up Andrew McCutcheon.
This could be some kind of start
to this homestand.
He sets and delivers and
McCutcheon dribbles it towards
first base and fielded by
Vossler.
He'll get it over to the pitcher
Weaver covering for the out.
He's to third Reynolds to
second.
Here's Connor Joe Reidy batter
hitting a three forty.
Riven deep to center field back
sends down to the wall.
Connor Joe pirates a three
nothing lead back at PNC Park.
It's just remarkable how he's
driving the ball into the gaps.
So Winski sends one to deep
right field.
This should clear the seats.
Oh the very best.
He's homered again.
What a hell of a monster shot by
so Winski back to back.
It is for nothing.
That's his fifth move over
Lumber Company.
These twenty three blocks are
having some fun.
Fraley comes in mired in quite a
slump just one for his last
twenty two over a seven game
span.
And he works a walk and now
Tyler Stevenson will stand in.
Wave in a Miss second K for
Contreras runner goes from
first that just throws strong
and got him quick release from
Hedges.
They're going to check it out
though.
Fraley did he sneak his hand in
there.
And I would be surprised if the
Reds are not going to take a
look at that one.
They are going to challenge
call on the field is out caught
stealing.
I'm not so sure that he got
Fraley on that one though.
After a few of the call the
field was overturned.
The runners say Cincinnati
retained the challenge struck
him out Paul from Carlos Torres
and the freeze frame by Hedges
Jason Bossler did have a hit
last time out.
He's four for his last thirty
nine and swing and a miss three
straight strikeouts for
Contreras.
India popped out to begin this
game to right field.
Joe won't get there over his
head.
That's going to be extra bases
for India to outrunner in
scoring position for T.J.
Friedel and a swing and a
flyball first base way Santana
almost right there and he'll
make the catch and that ends the
innings.
Twenty one straight scoreless
innings for the Red Sox.
So it's you at a high arcing
homerun to write his first time
up pitch swing and a miss down
goes to Wenske swing and a miss
almost look casual for Weaver
Bookend case and a perfect
fourth.
Jonathan India got a seventh
double of the year his last time
up payoff and he gets on the
base.
The table setter Jonathan India
leadoff man reaches for the
second time for the Reds and
now T.J. Friedel will come to
the plate.
He's on the move swing and a
miss sales in the center.
They're going to call batters
interference.
They're going to call batters
interference and they're going
to get the double play.
Yes sir.
That's a nice break.
Wow.
Home plate umpire Carlos Torres
called it right away.
Sure did.
It's a double play on batter
interference intentional or not
when you're leaning out over
like that.
Oh now how about the hedges.
Maybe stole one there.
Here's Spencer Steele swing and
a foul tip struck him out on the
slider.
Reds haven't scored in twenty
four consecutive innings
comebacker by Fraley.
He's on for a second time.
Stevenson turned on a fastball
up and in for a double his last
time up and in.
Stevenson walks to one.
Nobody out.
Will Myers will be the batter
bounce left side by Hayes.
Throw to second one by Santana
saying sensational.
That's a zip zap Kazoo as the
Buccos just turn to batters
left hander Jason Voss lowered
Fraley now a third base two
outs in the air.
Center field in front of
Selensky Fraley scores the Reds
first hit in six and bats with
a man in scoring position
tonight.
The Reds have snapped their
scoreless streak and it ends at
twenty four innings.
Well the new pitcher Holland
Haldeman weak Tapper Haldeman
bare hand bouncing throw gets
away.
Barrera turns the right fielder
Joe from the warning track to
second and first slide that gets
a win.
But Reynolds able to pounce and
shallow left and Barrera is at
second base to ignite the eight.
Now Jonathan India will stand in
with a runner at second base.
That whistles by Barrera races
for third trouble on the bare
hand for Hedges.
So Barrera into third on the
wild pitch far to grab ball
right side base hit Barrera
scores India's third knock at
the night and the Reds creep
within two.
But I mean he's been hitting the
ball all over the place and to
the right side where he's got a
little bit of some daylight
drives that run in from third
base and now TJ Friedel the
runner on it first and nobody
out.
Far to grab ball pass by base
hit India shuts it down at
second.
It's three straight hits for the
Reds to spark the eight run in
two on the go ahead run at the
plate.
Spencer Steers first action
since Sunday he is over three so
far tonight.
Runners go double steal pitch in
no chance for a throw.
Excellent jumps by India and
Friedel and the tying run is in
scoring position.
That's a blast to left to
Twisted Reynolds Hopson catches
the ball runners tag.
India roars in throw to third no
shot.
India scores standing Friedel
claims third sac fly RBI.
It's a one run game.
Here we go.
Ninth inning and the pirates
they've got the lead four to
three over the Reds trying to
make it four straight victories
and they'll bring on the closer
David Bettin.
And there's out number one
Vossler has a hit tonight
singled and drove home the Reds
first run tonight snapping the
scoreless inning streak in the
air to left Reynolds who made a
fine catch last inning.
And now the Reds are down to
their final out now Nixon's L.O.
for three tonight fly ball left
field left center now and
Bay Ray's the Jolly Roger.
The jig is up the news is out as
the Renegade saves it for
Contreras.
Pirates have won five of six
twelve of seventeen.
