Hello guys, welcome back to my channel
and welcome to a video that I feel is well, well overdue.
I actually really wanted to film this about a month ago,
but for some reason, I don't know what happened,
but I just didn't end up doing it.
But yeah, I'm finally here and I am filming this video
to basically show you my essential capsule wardrobe
for winter specifically,
because it definitely differs
as the seasons change, obviously.
If you're watching my video,
as you may or may not be able to tell,
I live in the UK where we don't exactly
get extreme weather conditions.
We don't get to like minus 10,
absolutely freezing, freezing, freezing winters.
And then in the summer, we rarely go over 30 degrees.
So, and if we do, it's classed as a heat wave
and the whole country shuts down and everyone panics.
So yeah, our winters are, yes, they're cold,
but we probably go freezing, around freezing
for about a month of the year, if that.
And that's about it.
We don't get as bad as some countries.
So yeah, wherever you're watching from,
I hope you can kind of relate to this video,
but yeah, obviously this is more based
around sort of like UK temperatures.
So I know there will be some of you guys watching
that are from warmer climates
and from much, much colder climates.
So yeah, just letting you know,
this is like my winter capsule wardrobe.
And if you are from the UK,
I'm sure you will definitely be able to relate.
The sun is doing me dirty for this video.
It's coming and going.
So I'll go from looking really nice
and sun-kissed and golden to looking very cold
and cool in a matter of seconds.
So sorry about that.
But anyway, I'm gonna jump into this video.
Oh, it's coming back.
There we go, it's such a better color.
Anyway, I'm gonna jump into this video
and show you my ultimate winter capsule wardrobe.
I've tried to keep a lot of the items
that I'm showing in this video,
like fairly recent purchases.
So a lot of the stuff I show you
will still be available online.
Some of the things, guys, I just can't help it.
If it's been in my wardrobe for years,
I might not be able to find the exact product,
but I will 100% try and link similar in the description box.
So yeah, let me jump straight in.
I'm gonna start off with bottoms first.
So an absolute essential for me in the winter
is leather trousers.
These are my faux leather trousers from Naked Fashion.
These are a recent purchase.
I absolutely love these.
They go with so many looks.
They are just a little bit more heavy duty
than like a normal pair of trousers.
So they do keep you warm.
On the inside, it's kind of like a soft suede lining.
So they do keep you toasty.
They don't make you sweaty or anything like that.
Really, really lovely.
I get so much wear out of my leather trousers.
If your office or work allows you to wear them as well,
they can also make a workwear outfit look really, really
just a little bit different and nice.
So yeah, faux leather trousers, 100% must.
Next up, neutral trousers.
I've popped a couple of my favorites on the hanger.
So I've got my black pair of trousers here.
Let me show them here.
So my black pair of trousers here, which are from Zara.
Great for work.
I like personally to dress mine down
and wear them with trainers and things,
but these are just great.
And then another pair, which some of you might've seen
if you watched a recent haul, this pair from H&M.
Now, I personally like to have an array of colors
when it comes to trousers,
when it comes to anything, to be honest.
A capsule wardrobe has to be capsule for you.
So if you're someone that prefers to wear a lot of color
or you don't like wearing trousers
and you always just wear skirts and dresses,
your capsule wardrobe might look very different to mine.
So me personally, I prefer to have lots of neutral colors
because I feel like together, mix and matching,
they just work, they pair together much more easier.
So yeah, when you are creating your own wardrobe,
just make sure that you have all the pieces
that you know you're going to reach for as well.
But yeah, neutral trousers, as I said,
you can wear them for work, you can wear them casually.
They look really smart and yeah,
just a definite essential for me in my wardrobe.
I'm always reaching for trousers
when I want a break from wearing jeans.
So yeah, speaking of jeans,
I truly believe you can get through winter
with just one pair of jeans.
As long as they fit really, really well,
then you're onto a winner.
You just want to make sure when you do invest in anything,
if it's in a capsule wardrobe,
that it's all really well fitting
because otherwise you're not going to reach for it
and it's not going to serve the purpose.
So these are my most recent purchase of jeans.
These are my H&M straight leg jeans, which I love.
I love the fit of these.
I love the fact that they're straight leg
because with them being straight leg,
I can actually tuck these into longer boots.
I can wear them with my trainers.
I just get a lot of wear out of these.
But like I said, these might look different
to a pair of jeans that you know
you'll get your wear out of.
If you know you're never going to reach
for a pair of straight leg jeans, do not get them.
You might prefer wide leg, you might prefer skinny.
It's completely up to you to tailor it
to your own personal preference.
But yeah, for me, straight leg seems to work best
and I just reach for them a lot more.
I personally recommend going for a blue
because as you've seen with the previous trousers,
there's already a couple of black pairs there.
So it's nice to mix it up and have a little bit
of color in the wardrobe.
And then for something a little bit more casual,
I think everyone needs a good pair of joggers
in their wardrobe at winter time.
Just as I said, for a bit more of a chilled out,
laid back kind of vibe.
We're not always in jeans and trousers.
And I personally feel if you go for something
nice and neutral, like classic gray, or maybe even a black,
they're gonna go with everything that you can see here
and just really dress it down and just give you
a little bit more of a laid back kind of vibe.
I really love how joggers look with a really nice,
just basic body, and then a really smart wool coat.
You know when you just need to go out and about,
run some errands, you don't particularly wanna dress fancy.
You wanna be comfy, but still look nice.
Gray joggers, just an essential now.
The ones I'm showing you here are fairly recent
from PLT, and they are actually wide leg,
which I have been loving.
I've been much preferring wide leg joggers
over cuffed joggers.
So yeah, these are my current favorite pair.
However, another pair that I really do love,
but I can't show you because they actually have
a tomato ketchup stain on them,
which I need to get off them.
I'll link those in the description box as well,
because as I said, I love those.
Just don't roll around in ketchup when you wear them.
But I just as much love these as well.
So yeah, had to include these in capsule wardrobe video.
And then finally, now this is no shade
to any other like creators or influencers,
but when I have seen other people do like a winter
or like autumn, winter capsule wardrobe,
this is an item that I feel like is always missed off.
And I don't know why, because it's part of my uniform,
I feel at this point.
And it's a really good pair of black leggings.
Who doesn't love wearing an oversized jumper
over a pair of black leggings?
They're probably one of my most reached
for pair of bottoms at this time of year.
I just feel like leggings are overlooked
when it comes to capsule wardrobe videos.
I don't know why, but these are the best.
I love these.
They're actually from Pretty Little Thing.
And I can't remember what range these are from,
but I've now bought other leggings in other colors
from PLT, from this range, because they're so good.
They really like suck you in at the top.
They feel really supportive.
So you can wear them literally up to your armpits.
They suck everything in.
Really, really nice quality,
not see-through in the slightest.
You can put these on, bend over,
you can't see your knickers, you are safe in these.
So, so good.
They just go with so many outfits.
Like I've said, my oversized jumpers, blazers, boots,
trainers, all of the winter vibes.
Black leggings, essential.
Right, I'm gonna move on to tops.
Something that's essential for me in winter time
are basic, neutral, long sleeved tops.
Now on their own, these tops are not gonna keep you warm
in freezing temperatures, but you need them for layering.
You need those layering pieces.
And the great thing about these kind of tops
is you can get use of these out like all year long.
So they're great in autumn, spring,
I will definitely wear these.
And to be honest guys, with our UK summers,
we'll probably wear them in summer as well,
let's be honest.
It's very rare that we get mega hot weather.
So I've popped a couple on the hangers to show you.
This white one is actually a bodysuit.
I do like long sleeved bodysuits
because I usually, well, always have them tucked in.
And I just like the extra security
of having it as a bodysuit.
So yeah, I've popped my white Zara bodysuit here.
And then this black turtleneck long sleeve top
is from Mango, just absolute essential.
I've included both of these because as you can see,
they've got different necklines.
I know some people don't like turtlenecks.
I am so picky when it comes to turtlenecks.
I like them to be super elasticated.
This one from Mango, it's more of a knit
rather than a top, like a really fine knit.
And the neck on this is so comfortable,
doesn't make you feel like you're being choked
there's a time and a place.
So yeah, I find it really, really comfortable.
And I recommend having various colors
in these types of tops.
I've got them in like camel colors.
I've got them in khaki, cream, beige, all of the colors.
They're also great for layering underneath your knitwear,
your jumpers, under blazers.
They're just, yeah, absolute essential.
Guys, moving on to knitwear,
I am not even ashamed to admit
the amount of knitwear I have in that dressing room.
I live in it.
It is 100% one of my most reached for items
at this time of year.
I love my jumpers.
I love my oversized jumpers.
I love my knits.
I just love them.
So I do have a lot of styles and shapes and colors,
but I'm gonna show you three.
I feel like I've really restrained myself here.
I'm gonna show you three in three classic colors
that I feel like you need in your wardrobe.
So starting off with cream.
This is from H&M.
It's one of their cashmere blend jumpers.
Lovely.
I love the wide sleeves on this.
It looks gorgeous tucked into a pair of jeans.
Looks just as nice tucked into a pair of trousers.
You're always gonna get so much wear out of a cream jumper.
Let's be real.
And then next I need to show you, is this H&M as well?
This is also H&M.
My H&M, oh, it's got some fluff stuck to it.
My mohair blend black jumper.
Black is just such a safe color.
I mean, I think it's a safe color for everyone, isn't it?
But definitely a safe color in winter.
I love how this looks.
It's nice and oversized.
I love it with my black leggings, my chunky boots,
my black coat for like an all black look.
It's super, super nice.
I really feel like investing in high quality knitwear
with a good fit.
You'll never ever regret it
because these are the kind of pieces
that you could wear this if you're 18 or 80
and it doesn't matter.
They're classic, they're timeless.
Definitely well worth spending
a little bit of extra money if you're ever on the fence
about buying a nice piece of knitwear like this.
And then another item I'm gonna show you,
which is new in my wardrobe.
It's from Arquette.
It's like a gorgeous camel colored one.
I personally feel like if you have these three colors
in your wardrobe in tops or coats
or whatever it is that you're looking for,
you can't go wrong because they all go lovely together
and yeah, you'll never ever have nothing to wear.
If you have all of these items that I'm showing you
and you say you've got nothing to wear,
you're lying, okay?
You're lying.
So yeah, this one, as I said, recent purchase from Arquette.
Love their knitwear.
I'm fairly new to ordering from Arquette,
but 100% gonna be buying some more stuff
because this jumper is delightful.
It's gorgeous.
Okay, moving on to blazers.
As if I could get through a single capsule wardrobe video
without mentioning blazers.
They're just a love affair for me.
I can't imagine a time when I won't want to wear a blazer.
I just feel like they're so classic.
I love them, but yeah,
I'm gonna show you a couple of them.
I mean, let's show you this one first.
Classic black blazer.
I just feel like everyone needs to have a black blazer
in their wardrobe.
If you watch my channel,
you will have seen this one many a time.
It's from SLA The Label.
I know a few of you have messaged me
and said that you've ordered this blazer
from their website because of my videos,
which I always appreciate.
I love that you trust my opinion
and you've all loved it as well.
I hate blazers that look like wilted lettuce
and drop down your shoulder.
I want my blazers to look like a men's blazer.
Essentially, I want them to hold their own shape
because I just felt they look more expensive that way.
You can really tell a poor quality blazer
by how thin the material is
and if it doesn't support itself when it's on your back.
But another blazer I did want to show you
is my blazer from Mango.
The reason I wanted to show you this
is if we are talking about specifically winter wardrobes,
I always think it's quite good
to gear more towards a wool blend blazer.
Both of these blazers feel a little bit different.
This feels more like a classic blazer
and this has that more wool, like warm texture to it.
So this one is obviously built to,
built, made to keep you warm.
So yeah, if you are looking for a particular new blazer
when it's wintertime,
try and have a look at the wool blend blazers
because they do almost double up as a coat in themselves
because they are so warm.
I love this one.
It's gray and black, sort of like houndstooth design.
But I can definitely vouch that this keeps you warm.
I love it.
But yeah, as I said, blazers,
neutral colors are my personal preference.
I tend not to wear lighter colored blazers in winter
so I don't really wear white or cream blazers in winter.
But black, gray, camel brown, 100%, I'm here for it.
Right guys, moving on to coats.
Probably my favorite category,
but I'll try to keep this very streamlined.
So here we go.
An essential coat for me in winter
has to be a long, formal coat.
Doesn't matter on your preference of material.
Personally, I prefer a wool blend coat,
a bit like the blazer because they do keep you warm.
But yeah, here's a couple of my faves.
Again, neutral colors.
This is the only item that I am showing you in this video
that I have had for years and years and years.
And I know it's not available online,
so I'm really sorry I'm showing it to you,
but it's my only true camel wool blend coat that I own.
And I haven't felt the need to replace it.
They have a gorgeous one in Zara at the moment.
It's very similar to the Maximara camel coat.
So I will link that as well in case you're interested
because that is the only one,
the only camel coat that has nearly turned my head
away from this one, but I didn't get it in the end.
But yeah, this one is, as I said, it's old from H&M,
but my God, have I got the cost per wear out of this coat.
I wear this really casually chucked over a tracksuit.
I've wore this for meetings down in London.
I've wore this when I've been hungover.
I've worn this when I wanted to look nice.
I've wore it over my shoulders,
over a dress when I wanted to go out for dinner.
This has just really served its purpose in my wardrobe.
So highly, highly, highly recommend you get one similar.
But also I just wanted to show you this coat in black.
So this is fairly recent, hence why I wanted to show you
because this one you can buy.
I always think it's good to have a long formal black coat
because black is gonna go with everything.
It looks really chic, it looks really nice.
And yeah, this one from Naked Fashion, it's incredibly long.
It's double breasted, it keeps me warm and yeah, it's great.
Another absolute essential coat for me in winter
is the puffer coat.
I am someone, probably like a lot of people watching,
I have dogs, so I go out on a lot of dog walks
and I do have to face the elements every day.
So I need that coat that I can just chuck on.
It's thick, it's gonna keep me warm.
If I get a bit of mud on it or a bit of dirt,
I can wipe it off.
It's not gonna do any damage.
Long puffer coat is my best friend.
It honestly feels like I'm wearing a sleeping bag outside,
which is the best feeling.
I don't wanna be wearing my wool coats
to go walking through brambles and mud
in my Wellington boots, do you know what I mean?
So a long puffer coat for me is an absolute essential.
And when it is absolutely Baltic outside,
this will be the coat that I reach for
because I know it's 100% gonna keep me warm.
You could go for a short version if that's your preference.
I do have a short puffer coat as well,
but when it's really, really freezing cold,
a long one is just gonna be your best friend.
This is from H&M, lovely khaki color,
goes with everything, yeah.
Dog walking essential coat.
And then finally on the coats
for a little bit more of a casual kind of vibe,
I had to include my leather jacket
because again, this is just another coat that,
well, type of coat that I'll reach for a lot in winter.
Leather jackets will keep you warm if you layer properly
and if they're of good quality.
This is my vintage leather jacket.
I got it from ASOS Marketplace.
It's thick, and it's heavy.
Like this is a heavy jacket.
When I wear this over a hoodie or a jumper, I am warm.
So I had to include this in the winter wardrobe
because it's an essential for me in winter.
And it looks great with all of the bottoms I've shown you.
It looks great over trousers, tracksuit bottoms, jeans.
You just gotta have a good leather jacket.
Again, this is an item in my wardrobe
that I feel like I never regret spending money on.
If it's a good quality jacket, I will spend the money on it.
Okay, guys, I'm gonna move on to shoes.
So I've kept it down to three pairs.
And as I said, these are very like personal to me.
So I don't work in an office.
So I don't have the need to wear
sort of like office appropriate shoes.
So yeah, my shoes are definitely geared
towards more of like the casual vibe,
but I'm gonna show them to you.
So one thing definitely needed in winter
is a good white pair of trainers.
I love these ones.
These are my New Balance 530s.
And the reason I love these so much
is they look great with trousers.
They look lovely when you can just kind of see them
poking out the bottom, but they look just as good
with socks and leggings,
where you can see the whole trainer.
They are just great.
And I will say these are,
the New Balance 530s are one of the most comfortable trainers
you will ever put on your feet.
I can guarantee you that.
So comfortable.
I want more pairs of these.
I'd really love like a cream, like brown cream pair,
but my white classic pair are just great.
Love them.
I also think it's absolutely essential in winter
that everyone has a good pair of black ankle boots.
Now, whether you prefer flat boots
or a heeled boot is totally your preference.
I'm just picking up the pair
that I seem to reach for the most.
These ones are from ASOS.
They are still available, so I will link them,
but I have had these for years now,
and I love them so much.
They look great, again, just poking out the bottom
when you wear them with trousers.
And they also look great
when you tuck your leggings into them as well.
I love these boots.
Very nice, like big sole on them as well.
They're very like heavy duty, very hard wearing.
You're not feeling precious wearing these
in like the rain or, you know, anything like that.
Great pair of boots.
And then as much as I love my short pair of boots,
I think it's also an essential
to have a good long pair of boots as well.
I love these.
These are from Glamify Fashion.
I've had these for a few years now as well.
They almost mimic sort of like riding boots,
but they're definitely more like heavy duty on the sole,
very similar to the other ones.
But yeah, they just give a little bit
of a different kind of vibe with them being taller.
And they've got a zip up the back there as well.
But yeah, for me, good pair of trainers,
some long boots, some short boots.
Again, you could go for a heeled pair.
I do have a couple of like heeled black pair of long boots,
and I do get a lot of wear out of them,
but I had to keep it streamlined for the video, guys.
So personally, I would recommend a flat pair
and a heeled pair for different occasions.
And I'd also recommend getting a tan or a cream pair
as well as a black pair, but that's just me.
I'm keeping the video very streamlined,
but yeah, neutral colors always for me.
But yeah, long boots are a definite vibe in winter.
And then finally, I just wanna really briefly talk
about accessories for winter,
because these items really, really,
for me, step up your winter outfits.
You can have a bit of fun with these.
Beanie hats are a huge favorite of mine.
All three of these I'm showing you are from Zara.
The Zara, I don't know if it's like their wool
or alpaca blend, I think they're called.
Whatever the Zara beanies are, they are great.
These are in the exact same style, just different colors.
I've got the cream, gray, and black.
They go with all of my winter outfits.
And the reason I love the Zara ones so much is,
you know when you get a bad fitting beanie
where the material's way too thin
and it makes you look like you've got a condom on your head?
That's not the vibe.
These are not like that at all.
They're really nice and thick.
They sit really nicely on your head.
If you've not tried the Zara ones, highly, highly recommend.
And then finally, I can't mention beanies
without mentioning scarves.
For me, scarves are just a really fun way
to inject a little bit of color,
just something a little bit different into your outfit.
So I do have sort of like neutral colored scarves,
but I wanted to show you these ones.
So first off, this is one of my favorite ones.
This one was from Mango last year, my beloved green scarf.
I love this so much.
It's just a fun way to inject a little bit of color
into a neutral wardrobe.
So if you are someone that doesn't really know
how to wear color or where to inject it,
look at your accessories because more often than not,
you could have, let's just say a full black outfit,
pop a green scarf on it,
and all of a sudden it looks very different.
It looks like you've really thought about it,
but you haven't.
You've just switched up the accessories.
So yeah, this green scarf is one of my faves,
but also I love the Zara scarves as well.
This is my black and beige checked scarf.
Again, it's just nice adding in a little bit
of pattern to an outfit,
just making it look a little bit different.
They're super thick, super long, and super warm.
And that's it, guys.
That is my ultimate winter capsule wardrobe.
I really hope you've enjoyed this video
and found it useful.
Let me know if you did like this sort of video,
and yeah, I'll be sure to shoot another one of these
when it's closer to springtime.
But yeah, guys, I will leave that here
because I feel like I've been babbling on for long enough,
but as always, guys, I will see you in the next video.
Bye.
