And here come Everton with Damari Gray.
Oh!
90th minute.
Last minute.
He's a winner.
We've gone through a bad time.
We needed that win, innit?
So I'm celebrating like a madman, innit?
Of course, bro.
You've got to.
Hi, I'm Damari Gray from Everton.
You're watching Uncut on the Premier League YouTube.
We're going to look at some of your best Premier League goals,
going through them and just having a conversation.
OK, let's do it.
By the way, guys, Everton in the background, obviously,
training, you know what I'm saying?
Premier League teams.
So don't worry about the noise.
If you hear a lot of noise in the background, we apologise.
I already think this is my best one, you know.
Gray.
Damari Gray.
Brilliant, brilliant goal.
Wow, that feast into the top corner.
And there is the first Premier League goal in the life of one,
Damari Gray.
He's quite a talent, and that is quite a hit.
The trim, though.
No trim, innit?
We're going to pause it there.
These are the olden times.
Oh, it was.
Before that trim, I relaxed my hair, innit?
Escorting.
Yeah, but I did it too much, so it went all straight.
Ha!
I've done it before!
I used to go to the barbers, show a picture of him,
when he had the little mohawk, the line there.
Yeah, I did them trims there, so I know.
But forget that.
Let's talk about the goal, though.
I think that's my best strike.
The way it moves out, innit?
I see, I see.
Let's watch it here.
Watch it, watch it, watch it.
So you see where the shoulder moves, though?
No.
Where would you say is the most effective place on the pitch
to use the skill?
In their box.
But to be fair, the way I play, I'm sharp, innit?
So all over the field, it's effective,
but if I'm trying to work a shot like that,
I'll just slow the defender down.
The main reason for it is to slow the player down
to figure out what you're going to do next.
Just to get a yard, to get the shot off.
Going in is a yard.
I think when I was younger, you might try and do too much,
or you might beat the man and get excited,
so you want to beat him again.
But now it's just literally to try and be effective,
beat the man, get a cross off or get a shot off,
and sometimes you might go over the bar, innit?
But sometimes that happens, innit?
Weighted that beautifully for Gray.
Pacey, direct, takes it on and scores brilliantly!
Burns the scoring for Everton,
having netted his first for the club last week,
and what a wonderful start to his life as an Everton player.
The ball control.
You're running so fast, but that ball does not leave your foot.
Well, I think over the years, I've just developed it.
Even that little shift there.
Yep, bring it back.
I was going to talk about it.
Here we go, let's see it here.
Just that little shift there gives me a few yards, innit?
And if I'm running directly at the defender,
in my head I know, yeah, I'm going to...
You're going to pace.
It's dead.
As soon as I shift it, it's dead, so...
That burst out to the side,
is that to give yourself some space to get the shot off?
Yeah, but that's the thing,
that's why I like playing off the left as well.
OK.
He wants to show me I'm to my weaker foot, innit?
Because then I like to cut in,
so I try and work on my game so I can go left or right.
Either way.
And here come Everton with Damari Gray.
Here is your Everton win.
Well, it's a goal worth of settling any game.
That is magnificent from Damari Gray.
Ooh, look at the smile on his face, Zubin!
Look at him, he's trying to keep it humble, you know?
He knew what was coming.
Double drop shoulder, that's one, that's two.
That's what I say.
When you shoot, I say...
Cos that's how it goes off the post.
Beautiful goal.
It's a weird one, this game.
I had a feeling that I was going to do something.
I hit the bar before this as well.
Gray doesn't.
Hits the bar, Richarlison!
The good thing about this goal, it was 90 something.
90th.
90th minute.
Last minute.
He's a winner.
He's always had a lot of potential, but that is fulfilment.
We've gone through a bad time, we needed that win, innit?
So I'm celebrating like a madman, innit?
Of course, bro, you've got to.
How is that feeling?
Because scoring in the last minute to clutch that game for your team,
how does that feeling compare?
Yeah, it's mad.
We had a tough season, innit, last year?
So the goal meant a lot to the club and the fans were good that day as well.
But obviously the quality of the goal as well made it.
Amazing.
There's something about when it hits the post.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
The way it just cleans.
I know, as soon as you're in that area, you can hit that top corner there,
that's yours.
Yeah, since I've played off the left, it's probably my most effective part
of my game, innit?
So as soon as I do that, I like to drop the shoulder twice there, innit?
Literally?
Yeah, it's just developing over the years.
Maybe a few years ago, I might have rushed it.
I think it's just natural development and I can strike the ball well.
Ooh, I remember this one.
The touch!
Look at this guy!
He knows!
You're guessing me.
Nah, I know, bro.
I've got to.
It's the outside of the foot as well.
I like this goal because it's different and it's not the goals where I'm cutting in.
Again, I think it was a late goal.
But that's just more me learning more about being a winger
and the coaches I've had.
If you pull it back, you can see my run.
I've curved the run.
Then the defender's finished.
Then obviously the touch and finish.
It's about keeping composed.
I was thinking about even dinking it.
So when the keeper's normally in the goal and you're usually running towards him,
what do you have in your mind in that kind of moment?
Because obviously those moments are rare.
Me, I try and hit it as close as possible to the keeper.
If you try and go too precise, it's easier for him to do that.
But if it's inside his body, he can go in between.
Or sometimes I'll score a goal and it's gone through his legs.
Yeah, let's do this.
If we want to do this, we'll do this.
If you want to play it humble today, I'll play it, bro.
We'll play it.
Was that intentional or was that a slip?
Because I'm seeing Belassie now.
I've seen Belassie.
Yeah, Belassie, don't know that.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
So was that a Nakutamari?
Slip.
Oh, a slip.
Yeah, yeah, a slip.
I'll be honest.
A slip.
Look at the passion.
Yes.
And he hit the underside of the bar as well.
Yeah, the goal speaks for itself, you know.
What are you saying?
This or Man U?
No, I'm saying this.
This.
Just for the day that it was, the occasion and the goal,
like running from where you did, the slip and still got yourself back.
However, I want to hear it from you.
What did this goal mean to you?
Occasions make a difference.
Because the Man U one, that was my first Prem goal.
Okay, yes, of course.
And growing up, I was a Man U fan.
But same time, this goal, again, we weren't going through the greatest patch.
Big crowd there as well, man.
But a lot has gone away from home, hasn't it?
For me, strike-wise, United.
But it's so tight.
United!
Just the way I've hit it, it's just flabbed out.
You know what I'm saying?
How did it feel to get your first Premier League Goal of the Month award?
How did that feel for you?
Yeah, it was a good feeling.
I felt like I was old that one.
Because I should have got one from the Man U one.
But it was obviously a nice trophy to get.
Obviously in my house now.
Part of the furniture.
Yeah!
But yeah, I was happy to get it, man.
