Cold Season Planter! 3 Seasons of Interest

Every fall I like to put together a few planters with plants that will offer some seasonal interest fall through spring when everything else is dormant. Flowering kales and cabbages and pansies generally push through my zone 6 winters offering color and small flowers throughout the cold. The alyssum will die, but it will hold on for several weeks as they generally enjoy the cool weather. Planting pansies in fall is a hit or miss, but when they keep going and holding onto their flowers they are well worth the effort of planting.
