Christian Stellini named an unchanged Tottenham Hotspur team
since their draw with Everton.
And so Hugo Lloris, who returned from injury on Monday,
continues in goal, supported by the same defence, Clemen Longley,
who makes his seventh consecutive start this afternoon.
It's Pedro Porro and Ivan Perisic, either side of Pierre-Emil
Hoiberg and Oliver Skipp in midfield again,
while Son Heung-min is on the hunt for a century of goals for Spurs.
He's alongside Julian Kuleszewski, as they both support their top scorer,
Harry Kane. It's an extensive injury list for Tottenham,
but Richarlison is fit to be involved.
He's on the bench, whilst Lucas Moura begins his three-match ban.
As for Brighton, then it's two changes from their win against Bournemouth.
And Jason Steele continues in goal over Robert Sanchez,
while it's just the one change in defence for Brighton,
as Adam Webster drops out for Levi Caldwell.
Moises Caicedo is fit to start, despite being forced off with injury on Tuesday.
And the same goes for Alexis McAllister, who has also recovered in time.
He's joined by Soli March, who started every Premier League game
for Brighton this season.
Danny Welbeck replaces the 18-year-old Evan Ferguson,
who makes the bench despite scoring on Tuesday.
Julien Cice was also on target for his first Seagulls goal last time out.
He's among the substitutes.
A fascinating game.
We really got into the prospects.
Spurs line up 3-4-3, but very often it will be Perisic and Parra
making out into a five.
Lots of pressure and expectation.
Hoiberg and Skipp to try and disrupt Brighton's fluid passing in the middle of the park.
The Seagulls at 4-2-3-1.
Danny Welbeck won't be isolated.
Good support from Mitova and March.
Adam McAllister as well coming in behind him in those nice little pockets.
But Grosso and Caicedo, two very good footballers.
Brighton are a real force to be reckoned with.
And they will be, who get us underway.
Tottenham Hotspur, though, hoping for a revival after two disappointing draws.
But their opponents, Brighton, now a place for Europe, is very much within reach.
Arrive here, unbeaten in the last seven games in all competitions.
And certainly, Efina Koukou, an intriguing tie between 5th and 6th.
Both teams eyeing up that place for a top four.
March with the delivery.
Looking for that far post, but Tomo is getting there.
Dyer with a header away.
Well, they're asking for a handball, Brighton.
March continues.
It did look like it, but I mean, the ball was...
I think his hand, well, I don't know if it was a long lay.
The ball was down by his...
And his hand is close to his side.
Oh, no, it's not. It's actually sticking out.
I mean, if this ball is diverted away, which it does.
Yeah, it does move from its path, doesn't it?
Certainly handball.
Mitoma with the little knockback.
Not quite going for goal.
No, it's just difficult for him to score.
Perisic again, on the corner, out to Son.
Looks to turn to get away from Mitoma.
Back out to Perisic.
Floating delivery in, and McAllister can get it away,
only as far as Hojvjerk.
Pressure is on there by Mitoma to try and win it back for Brighton.
Perisic into Son.
Son goes for goal, and in some style, too.
Absolutely glorious finish.
They've just got to get closer.
Bellman, well, he doesn't dive in, which is sensible.
But once Son shows himself to be wanting to go onto that right side,
he's got himself, he knows their body's behind him.
They've got two players around him.
Neither one gets close enough to the ball peen.
And there's the end result.
A beautiful curl shot past Jason Steele, who's got no chance.
It's not a great angle to see, but I think I'm sure he started just outside the post.
Wow. Into the side netting.
Welcome to the 100 Club.
Son, with his 100th Premier League goal,
becomes the first Asian player to score 100 Premier League goals.
What a way to do it.
Dier,
that's a play through to Kane.
But Brighton have won the possession back again.
McAllister looking to play him, it's over.
Flag went up pretty quickly, didn't he?
And then he's saying that his sister is saying that perhaps he came off his arm.
I actually thought he was he was handball, to be honest.
I didn't think it was offside to begin with, but
we're bound to get another couple of looks at that.
Well, they are checking it.
See if there was perhaps a handball.
It was clearly it wasn't offside.
Yeah, that's handball.
Oh, it's high, isn't it?
Short sleeve shirt.
I mean, it's it's clearly above the elbow.
I think they'll put that one back.
Oh, I wonder if he's going to get the benefit of the doubt.
It's quite high up on the bicep, isn't it?
I would say it's all a question of whether they feel generous enough and
determine that Stuart Atwell really should be going to the monitor table.
I think it's worth a look to see if the referee
wants to decide whether this is a goal or not.
I mean, that still says it's coming off the upper chest, doesn't it?
But I think the initial contact, I think that's just as the ball is
perhaps just rolling onto his chest and that forward momentum.
Bit of a nudge was there as well from Romero.
Probably not enough to warrant any further look at that contact.
Well, the check continues
whether or not Matoma
handled the ball to control it, to take that strike.
This should be a decision for the referee, I think.
Well, the check is complete.
The goal will not stand.
Handball from Karim Matoma.
Welbeck, across to March.
March picking out Welbeck again.
Now Brighton making their way forward.
Veltman, Isedo, Welbeck, now McAllister.
Quick play from Brighton and McAllister with a strong strike.
Denied by Hugo Lloris.
And that was a top save.
And they're taking it away and Caicedo can have a go.
Oh, off the post.
Tottenham making their own problems and Brighton will go again.
Caicedo, through to McAllister.
Blocked this time by Skip.
Hojbjerg couldn't clear and in the end, Pedro Porro
clears it for Tottenham, but they're looking a little bit nervy.
Yeah, super heat, wasn't it, from Alexis McAllister?
Yeah, just that little bit of time and space.
And Lloris that full stretch to parry that one and send it
towards the edge of the penalty area.
It's a good steal, isn't it?
Caicedo nips in, Hojbjerg wants a foul, it wasn't.
Well, I think that's another touch as well, isn't it?
From a former French international.
Two top saves.
Yeah, off the post, there must have been a touch.
Hojbjerg, Skip, Kane.
Tottenham on their way forward.
This is Son looking for Hojbjerg.
Denied, Dunk in the way.
Yeah, it's a good block from a Brighton captain.
But in truth, Hojbjerg never looked comfortable
as the ball was coming onto his left side.
A more accomplished finisher.
Somebody's used to being in that position,
but they've just taken that step forward.
Yeah, that little stutter step.
March with the delivery.
And that far post again, it's a great header.
Dunk who scores.
And that is the answer that Brighton were looking for to get level.
That is what you call a thumping header.
Classic technique from Louis Dunk.
Completely on, I mean, why on earth is a Brighton captain completely unmarked?
You cannot leave one of the biggest defenders in the league.
Allow him a free header like that.
I mean, that is a real bullet, isn't it?
Lloris is already on the back foot.
He's coming, thinking about coming for the cross.
He's almost falling over before the ball actually gets to him.
He's on, he's actually behind the line, isn't he, the Tottenham captain?
It's been coming and well deserved.
Terrific header.
You can certainly feel the fire.
McAllister,
gross across to Soly March.
March, and try to take Lloris by surprise.
Well, you wouldn't put it beyond Soly March, would you?
Coming in onto his strong side of the left foot.
Screamer at Everton, I remember.
And, you know, he's done that a few times, actually.
One against Bournemouth as well like that.
Perisic, floating ball across again.
And there's that, and just over.
Yeah, it's not a bad ball, is it, from Perisic, nice and deep.
Gives your team-mate the opportunity to see the full flight of the ball
and perhaps lean on the opposing player.
A bit of leverage, just not able to...
In the end, the ball was dipping a little bit too low.
Still time to retrieve the situation.
March,
back to Welbeck, looks to control it.
Danny Welbeck!
Scores the second for Brighton,
and what a start to the second half.
A couple of players to score, a former Arsenal man.
Danny Welbeck with a superb piece of skill,
he lays it off, actually doesn't need to Soly March.
What about this for a drive-back?
Full to Hojbjerg, and I think it takes a deflection, perhaps, off Hojbjerg.
Who doesn't seem too interested to actually close this ball,
and Hojbjerg is the first man to it.
Oh, no, it's off his own team-mate.
Is it McAllister? Yeah, it's a deflection off McAllister.
Yeah, that just deceives Hugo Lloris.
How many still feel that he should have done better?
I wonder if that comes off the arm, and I mean, the arm is down by the side,
that looks more hit than anything.
And right underneath the goalkeeper.
Checking for handball.
They will, of course.
They are checking to see if it was a handball or not from McAllister
when it rebounded.
Ooh, that still is not conclusive, is it?
Yeah, they're going to disallow it.
Because it struck the right arm of Alexis McAllister
before it found the back of the net.
Spotted, and it is getting fiery now on the touchline.
Being exchanged, and there are people that need to be held back.
Well, the one person that's not getting involved is Cristian Sallini.
No, I think he was warned before the match, wasn't he,
by Roberto Di Zerbi to behave himself.
He's trying to, as you said, Peen, he's the man of calm right now.
We've joined the fray halfway through, haven't we, unfortunately?
We didn't see what kicked everything off.
Had to come and get involved just to calm the situation down a little bit.
So Stuart Atwell and the fourth official, Jeremy Simpson,
just having a few words.
So Roberto Di Zerbi has been shown a red card.
And Sallini has been shown a red card.
He didn't seem to be involved at all, not from the moment we joined in anyway.
Skip will try and keep it in play.
Perisic plays it through.
He couldn't finish.
Took a chance, Caicedo, reversing that ball.
Steele, through to Webster.
Matoma, trying to be clever again.
And Tottenham have it through the legs.
Hojbjerg, support arriving, quick to finish.
Well, he plays a chance over the crossbar, Harry Kane,
about ten or 12 minutes ago.
Two in a row, not likely.
Super marksman, but what about the pullback from Pierre Mujoiberg?
Kane, in acres of space on the edge of the box, moves onto it.
Just has to trust his technique, takes a bit of a deflection off Joel Veltman.
He's beaten the keeper anyway.
Steele, I don't think he would have had much of a chance.
It's a great strike, isn't it?
Sometimes you can have too much time, I mean, Harry Kane,
whether he's rushed, whether he's got seconds to think about it,
very often will find the target.
Harry Kane on target again for Tottenham Hotspur in a crucial moment.
It has been a fiery contest.
Harry Kane, strong play from Solih March.
March with the delivery in, the head is there from Matoma
and cleared away by Hojbjerg, vital points for Tottenham
as their race for a top four finish continues.
Frustration, though, for Brighton,
who had their chances.
They had the ball in the back of the net three times, twice.
Their goals were disallowed, but Harry Kane
with the winner for Tottenham, Son with a super strike
to score his 100th Premier League goal
for the Brighton players surrounding the referee, Stuart Atwell.
They feel they should have had a penalty from Matoma, but it's Tottenham
who continue their good form going here at home.
Three important points picked up
and a full time score, Tottenham Hotspur 2, Brighton 1.
