Anton Schmid
(Altheim im Innkreis, 22 August 1799 - Augsburg?, 1875)

German organist, regens chori and composer. Almost nothing is known about his early years. From 1824 to 1841 he was active as a music teacher in Dillingen, where he also was teaching at the royal grammar school and was Stadtpfarr-Organist. Lately he assumed a post of choirmaster at St. Georg in Augsburg. As a composer, he mainly wrote sacred music among them several organ pieces and preludes, masses, requiems, vespers et al. #ClassicalMusic
