Let's take a look at the teams. Gary O'Neill makes two changes from the weekend win against Fulham.
Neto starts for an 11th successive game in the Bournemouth goal. It's the same back four as
began on Saturday in that win over Fulham. The two changes to the starting 11 see Hamid Traore
and Ryan Christie come into midfield. Philip Billing plays his 150th game for Bournemouth.
He'll be in support of Dominic Solanke who scored his first goal in 11 Premier League games
to complete the comeback three days ago. Marcus Tavernier scored a spectacular equaliser at the
weekend but begins on the bench again. This is the side selected by Roberto Di Zerbi. He also
makes two changes from Saturday. Jason Steele goalkeeper and goal creator against Brentford
starts again. Adam Webster comes in at centre half in place of Levi Colwell. Pascal Gross was
superb on Saturday and partners Moïse Caicedo at the base of Brighton's midfield. Saturday's
saviour Alexis McAllister makes his 100th appearance in Brighton colours. Evan Ferguson
returns from a knock picked up on international duty to lead the Brighton attack. Danny Wolbeck
who was lauded by Roberto Di Zerbi at the weekend drops down to the bench. Roberto Di Zerbi frustrated
that his team didn't win that game against Brentford. It'll be interesting to see
just what kind of an impact the 18-year-old Evan Ferguson can have here tonight. Yes I expect him
to have a big impact to give them the platform to play on and when he does get those opportunities
he'll try and thrive on them. It's slightly difficult to break down on a low block.
That will suit Bournemouth however you feel they are the lowest average possession side
in the Premier League as Alexis McAllister has a go. Can Brighton get straight back into the
group fizzing the ball around quickly as they always do under Roberto Di Zerbi. Evan Ferguson
bearing down on goal can he get a strike away? He can but it's diverted behind by Jack Stephens.
In towards the front post and flicked on. All it needed was a touch but it was a touch which never
came. Jack Stephens hits the front post here gets good purchase on the ball but not quite enough.
That would have been his first goal of the season. I think when he sees that back
he might be a little bit disappointed the big defender. Brighton just getting on the ball a
little more over the last few minutes. Here's Dunk flipping it forward seeking the run of
Nestle Pignan. Who can he pick out here? Cleared away by Sanessi. It's only as far as
Mattoma. Ferguson flicks it in. It is a fantastic finish from a youngster who seems to have the
world at his feet. No wonder they rave about Evan Ferguson when you can take chances like that.
Brighton into the lead and it's Evan Ferguson showing the world what he's all about once again.
And we can see the young man there. What a fantastic finish. It is weaker for his left foot.
This ball is brilliant play first for it by Lewis Dunk. We've already observed he expects
lots from his centre back. Nestle Pignan's ball gets cleared but we can see folks that in between
the sticks he's in the right place right time and when it comes to him it's a deft beautiful
delicate touch into the far corner leaving Neto with no chance at all. And those are the things
that you just cannot teach. Wonderful goal from Evan Ferguson. Knew exactly what he was doing.
Punch of the air as Brighton take the lead.
Jameson learnable. Clipped in. Nice and still. Clean hands to it. Marcus Tavernier who started
the comeback with a spectacular goal is on the bench once again tonight. Here's Dominic
Solanke seeing if he can do something to bring Bournemouth level in this game. It's still Solanke
and it's beaten away by Steele. Jason Steele rallying his players. Dominic Solanke just
gets away here. One-on-one with Lewis Dunk. Chops in. Hit it with his right foot.
Clever ball threading. Big opportunity here which is put wide by Hamid Traore.
The best chance that Bournemouth have had so far this evening. Hamid Traore was unable to put it
away. Just gets on the wrong side of Lewis Dunk. One-on-one with Jason Steele and stabs it with
his left foot. With the outside of his left foot that I find funny. I thought he'd wrap his foot
around it. Curly back towards the target but that is a huge opportunity gone missing for Bournemouth.
It comes off the back of what has been a good few minutes for Gary O'Neill's side.
Lerma into Solanke peeling off to the left as he so often does. Steele called into action. Traore
sees his effort blocked. Now Lerma is going to have a go from some range. Well he put plenty
behind it but it was always traveling over the top. He's had any goals to his game this season.
Jefferson Lerma three this season having only scored three in 63 Premier League games before
that. He's been such a brilliant performer for Brighton this season. It didn't look anything
wrong with him there as he fizzed that ball out to Solly March who's got a real hunger for goals
right now. But that one was straight at Netto. Mr Pinyan steps in. Caicedo sweeps it forwards
first time to Ferguson. Neatly worked once again by Brighton. Ferguson he's going to have a go from
just outside the box. He's a confident player and when we've seen him do the things that he's done
already in his short career a little surprised that he was having a go there. He gets the ball
he gets out on his left foot a bit of space. He's looking for that far corner. Christie looking to
link up with Solanke. Cross comes in and Solanke was hoping to get on the end of it. Brighton's
just unable to touch it home. An encouraging start to the second half of Gary O'Neill's team.
Louis Dunne just trying to put his body between goal and man. Comes off Joe Veltman.
The Bournemouth fans unhappy about how long Brighton are taking to get the ball back in play.
It's Christie in possession now. Stephens shifts it left to Lerma who feeds it first time out to
Attara. Lerma again on the volley over the top but it took a touch on its way through. This has
been a really good few minutes for Bournemouth. Jefferson Lerma had his shot first half. This time
it's much easier for him. Get to touch no one closing down. He takes the invitation of the shot.
Pulls the best out of Jason Steele who just gets his fingertips to because I think that ball might
just be dipping under the crossbar. Anton McAllister who rolls it right.
Soly March looking for Ferguson but he's lifted it over the top. So cleverly worked once again
from Brighton and Hove Albion but it doesn't yield a goal. Brilliant vision from Soly March here to
find his teammate in the centre of the box as it arrives at Evan Ferguson's feet. Just leaning back
slightly but I would say that's an easy opportunity than the one that he put away in the first half.
European football before they firmly believe that they're on course to do so under Roberto
Di Serbi. Veltman taking aim over the top. Could have perhaps rolled it left. Karim Atoma is looking
very frustrated right now but Joel Veltman. Attara. Tavenier through the legs of Pascal Gross. Is he
going to do it again here? Tavenier. This is why but he's raised the tempo of this Bournemouth team.
Struggled at times this season defending set pieces. Towards the front post this time. Chance
on the turn and it's deflected over the top. Doesn't think so but you can see the reaction
of the Bournemouth players. It for all the world there looked like it took a touch on its way
Getting a little further away from that relegation. Trapped up.
From Attara. Estepinian. Too high. Looks like he's relishing it. Now here's Atoma.
Estepinian. A little bit tight inside the Bournemouth box. It'll break here. First side strike
and it's clawed out by Neto. Wonderful reflex save and he's kept his side in this game.
He has indeed and Estepinian digs across out here. Falls to Pascal Gross on the volley. Half
volley. Catches it really sweetly the German but Neto is equal to it with a brilliant reaction save.
For the end outcome this season in this closely contested race to survive. Poked through to
Matoma who's away here. He's got Solly March outside of him. Finds it. Who lays it off to
Welbeck but Neto is equal to it once again. He is indeed in this second half. Neto's proven to be a
key player for Bournemouth. Brilliant attack by Brighton. Laid off for Danny Welbeck. He gets
brilliant purchase on the ball. Hits the target but Neto is equal to it for a second time
in the second half. And see so lovely turn and it opens up the pitch for Estepinian to carry
it forwards. Matoma just forced a little wider than he would have wanted but he's tiptoeing his
way into the Bournemouth box now. Broughton back around the outside and it's pushed away
by Neto. Manages to gather it in. Bournemouth are hanging on in this game. March to Gross.
Visits it in towards Enciso. It's still Enciso. He can wrap it up here. Such composure from Julio
Enciso. His first Premier League goal and it takes Brighton even closer to the top four
as they hunt a place in the Champions League next season. Frustration for Bournemouth who
remained in this game until stoppage time but it's Brighton supporters who are going to head
home happy this evening. And you can see what it means to the young man, the young Paraguayan.
Only 19 years of age. Kills this ball first but his left foot turns inside. I think Jack
Stephens has a little nibble at him. He keeps his cool. Passes it past Neto who has no chance.
Brilliant pass by Pascal Gross who's been the main man for Brighton on so many occasions
but he wheels away. I'm sure a lot of his dreams have just come true there scoring in the Premier
League. Just 19 years of age. He showed real maturity there Julio Enciso to keep his calm
in front of goal and embrace between Jason Steele and Roberto Di Zerbi. Yes they have had the battle
they've had to ride their luck at points but when you're a European charge you need that little bit
of luck and they played extremely well tonight. Bournemouth were hard to break down. It took
something special from Evan Ferguson to break them down but they got there. They kept going
and got the second to put the game to bed in extra time. Brighton win the game and continue
their push for Europe. We've seen the smiles on the faces of two teenagers who have settled this
game here tonight. Julio Enciso wrapping it up for Brighton late on after Evan Ferguson
had put them ahead in splendid fashion in the first half. Brighton have got their eyes on
European football and they are going to take some stopping under Roberto Di Zerbi.
