Wooyun Kim, born in South Korea, studied at the School of Performing Arts Seoul with Chang Hee Lee and Jin Lim Myhung. He won 3rd at Markneukirchen International Instrumental Competition, 1st at Classic Winds International Competition, 2nd at Saverio Mercadante International Competition. He has played chamber music with numerous musicians including Sabine Meyer, Reiner Wehle, Feng Ning, and Jan Vogler, and also played with orchestras such as Beijing Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonietta Koeln, Munich Philharmonic Solisten, and Luebeck Philharmonic.

At the Final Round of the 6th Beijing International Music Competition, the 3th Prize winner plays Mozart's Clarinet Concerto in A major, KV 622.
