(Premier League 2022/2023): Highlights Brighton - Brentford

Welcome to the Amex Community Stadium as seventh-placed Brighton and Hove Albion host eighth-place Brentford. Good football out of him. So the Premier League is back. The final straight of a season which Brighton turn into in seventh place up against Brentford in eighth. Second most touches in the Premier League this season. Lewis Dunk. Sweeps in the cross which is fantastically well by Pontus Jansen. It flew past Jason Steele and Brentford have got their noses in front with their first meaningful attack of the game. Brighton stunned. Sometimes you just got to admire the quality. Whatever work he did with him while the World Cup was on, it's reaping rich dividends for Brighton and Matsuoma is away once more. Here, simplistic in its creation. Magnificent in its execution. Brighton won, Brentford won and it's a perfect response to falling behind. Superbly drilled ball from Jason Steele. Right on the edge of his box. I really feel that Rye should have come for it. He should have half-committed then he backs away. Once he does that he's beaten here. He's moving away. I think there's enough pace on it and he's advanced enough to perhaps fully commit for that challenge. Take a chance he can get the football because Matsuoma always had the run on Aaron Hickey and once he did, I mean this boy's cool as you like. Great touch, great awareness around him and that is a magnificent lob. Never easy when you're free like that. The goalkeeper makes your mind up and then it looks easy. I've only got one option have you? Well you've always got two and it was brilliant. Because Roberto Di Zerbi believes that he is so good with the ball. Brighton as we've seen so often draw teams in. This time they went long but they could be in trouble here. Brentford back in front and it's another goal for Ivan Toni. What a response. What about this little flick from Brian and Bermo? Straight on. He knows that Toni's onside. That Lewis dunk is far too deep Now here's March with a bit of room to attack it. Cross comes in. It's headed away by Ben Mee but it's back with Solly March once more. Quick shift of feet from him to clip it up and we've only played 28 minutes. It's really a delicious ball isn't it from Solly March. It's a lesson. 16 fouls committed so far in this game. 11 of them have come from Brighton. Bermo's free kick. Seeking Pinnock who puts it away. Ethan Pinnock and it's another set piece goal for Brentford. All of a sudden the numbers though are back. Pascal Gross sends in the cross to Silva. Unconvincing and it's deflected over the top. Brighton are adamant there was a handball in there. Perhaps tells you something here as you say Ethan. As we see the replay the arm is out. That's got to be a penalty. His way back onto the pitch and in doing so awards Brighton a penalty. Aaron Hickey. Alexis McAllister against David Rea. McAllister steps up. As I thought Rea's gone to his right. This is likely the last chance to win this game. I mean what a game. I never thought the second half could live up to the first Not quite but still a terrific, terrific 96-7 minutes of football we've had.
