Hey guys, it's Dani, and in my last video we did a papaya 101.
So I covered all the basics that you need to know about working with a papaya.
So I wanted to follow that up with one of my very favorite papaya recipes.
Today I am making a simple, clean and delicious papaya avocado salsa.
Now sometimes you just need a good reason to buy a new ingredient, and I promise you
that this salsa is a reason enough to run out and buy yourself a papaya.
So here's what I'm gonna do.
I'm just gonna slice off a nice thin piece of each end, then gently slice it down the
middle lengthwise.
See all those little black seeds in there?
We're just gonna scoop those out along with any membrane that may be attached to them.
And then, using a potato peeler, I'm just gonna peel off the papaya skin.
Now it's ready to be diced into small little pieces, just like this.
Put that into a nice big bowl along with one firm diced avocado.
Now, you don't want your avocado to be too hard, but you don't want it to be too mushy.
So we're looking for that perfect ripe avocado.
A great way to test your avocado is to hold it up, gently press your thumb on the skin,
and you want it to leave a light indentation.
This is how you know you've got the right texture.
Add in half of a small diced red onion, a big handful of chopped fresh cilantro.
If you don't like cilantro, basil would also be delicious here.
The juice from one lime, and some salt and pepper to taste.
Gently stir everything together, and you are gonna have yourself this insanely fresh, delicious,
beautiful papaya avocado salsa.
Mmm!
It's like I just went on vacation.
Now guys, you could serve this with some pan-seared chicken or fish.
It's delicious as an appetizer or snack with some corn chips or fresh veggies, and I've
also found it to be delightful on some scrambled eggs.
Now if you guys like this salsa, be sure you give me a big thumbs up so I can see what
you're enjoying and what you are not.

Then you're going to cut it up into a small dice, just like this.
Ready?
Put that into a nice big bowl.
Leave it right there.
