In less than a month's time, Manchester City will go to the Emirates to take on Arsenal
for the first time this season in the league. Pep Guardiola's side do not want to be too far
adrift of the leaders going into that one. There haven't been many stoppages in this first half.
Oh, Edison's got his team in trouble here. Kulasevski will capitalise for Tottenham
and what a time to score as we move into the final minute of the first half.
Tottenham take the lead and it's Kulasevski who scored against Manchester City in this
game last season. Well he's normally excellent in terms of his delivery but that was an awful
pass he made to to Rodri and the pressure he put him under and then afterwards he reacts by kind
of blaming Rodri. I mean Rodri is under so much pressure, what's he expected to do? That's about
all he can manage and yeah he opened the score. Kulasevski, Kane, Tottenham full of rhythm now.
Edison save, back to Emerson who scores. Two goals in the blink of an eye. Tottenham double
their lead and it's more chaos in the Manchester City defence. Emerson's first goal of the season.
And then he's just decided to smash it and see if he gets lucky and it's instinctive from Edison.
Some trying to keep up with him. Here's Mahrez, four in the middle. There's Gundogan, Alvarez
stretching and into the back of the net, Alvarez. Julian Alvarez halves the deficit, Manchester City
right back in it. Yeah I mean I love the ding from Mahrez considering he's gone on the outside on
his weaker foot and then he's just set that up and while it didn't come off for Gundogan nor Grealish.
Now Rodri, this is Mahrez, this is Haaland, Tottenham scored. Back in the goals,
number 28 for him in all competitions for City. City trying to get Mahrez into it as often as
they can and Perisic has been outfoxed here. Riyad Mahrez, what a goal that is. He's been
simply brilliant since the break. Riyad Mahrez involved in setting up City's comeback,
now scores the goal that puts Pep Guardiola's side into the lead for the first time tonight
and they now lead 3-2. Well the awesome Algerian but I think you've got to question
Lloris again on that near post. Yes he goes at it with a lot of pace from that weaker right foot
once more. There's a little touch, I must admit there is a little touch of Ben Davis as he tries
to smash it across, it does come off his foot and that obviously plays a little part because of the
pace that was on it but initially I thought Lloris could have reacted. The awesome Algerian.
This is what champions do on what appeared to be an off night. Edison looking for a run of
Mahrez. Oh Longley wasn't aware that the Algerian was behind him, this can settle it. When you see
what this guy has been doing second half you knew he was always going to keep his composure here
once Longley knew it got away from him and that that's just beautifully taken.
It was a boo moon at halftime. It was, the boos at halftime replaced by roars of approval at full
time. Manchester City have done it the hard way tonight but having lost home and away to Tottenham
last season.
