Elevate Your Work Outfits | Spring 2023 Edition | Layering Tips & Ideas

Hi guys, welcome back to another workwear outfits video. This time we are going to cover some transitional outfits that are perfect for spring and some layering techniques and tricks that I find useful. So without any further ado let's get started. I'm using a white button-down shirt for outfit number one. I think this is a great choice for spring as it is lightweight and airy making it comfortable to wear on warmer days but always remember to wear something nude under white tops and shirts for a more clean look. I'm going to style this shirt with my navy blue pants because I think the crisp and clean look of the white shirt contrasts nicely with the navy blue. Also the darker hue of the pants adds depth and richness to the outfit creating a more formal and elegant fit. I'm adding a striped sweater over my shoulder because it is still cold in Canada and this is an excellent way to accessorize this outfit and of course the sweater provides a layer of warmth if needed on cooler days and can be easily removed if it gets too warm making it a perfect choice for this confusing spring weather. I always fold the sweater once along the shoulder line. I think this is the easiest way that you can get a clean look. And finally I'm going to style this with my brown loafers, some minimalistic accessories like my brown watch, layered necklaces and a brown bag. Overall this outfit is perfect for a variety of occasions from business meetings to casual outings. It is a classic and timeless assemble that will never go out of style. So here is the final look. I'm going to use a white camisole and off-white wide leg pants for this next look. This will provide me a neutral base that will complement the other pieces that I'm going to use. Next I am going to layer it up with a yellow cardigan that adds a pop of color and warmth to the whole outfit making it perfect for a transitional look. You can also use this as an open front cardigan but my personal preference is not to keep the buttons undone. But in case you decide to keep it open then don't forget to add a belt just to balance the look. And for accessories I went with the pieces that had a touch of white in them so everything looks put together. For example this white pearl necklace, cute pearl earrings although I hate heart-shaped jewelry. This was definitely an exception. I don't know why but I just love these earrings. And to finish the look I'm using my brown watch and brown bag again. I think these pieces pair nicely with the white camisole creating a clean and sophisticated look. Overall this outfit is both cute and functional making it a great option for work. And the combination of neutral and white colors adds visual interest without being too bold or distracting. I think it can be dressed up with a pair of heels or dress down with flats but given my petite height I definitely went with my white boots with some block heels. Next outfit is probably my favorite combination to wear these days and it's this striped shirt from LilySilk which has a soft texture and a subtle sheen that looks very expensive and classy. When paired with white leg pants it creates an effortlessly chic look that I think is perfect for work. And these pants provide a neutral base that allows the stripes in the shirt to really stand out. To accentuate my waistline I added a white belt. You can also choose any other different color. I think brown will also go really well with this whole look. This will not only create a defined silhouette but also adds an element of interest to the overall look. Again I went with brown accessories, brown shoes, a brown bag with some minimal jewelry. And for colder days you can again layer it up with your cardigans or sweaters. I always tend to carry mine on my shoulders but it can be tricky when you have a silk shirt on. So I usually tie it in the front to give it a very nice casual touch to the whole outfit and I went with the color gray as it is very subtle and blends really well with the shirt. This shirt is definitely a staple piece that you can style in so many ways. Overall this outfit is ideal for a semi-formal or business casual dress code. For the next look I'm going with an all black base. I always do this before layering because it is very easy to build the outfits if you have your base layer in mind and it does not matter if it is summer or winters a double-breasted blazer will always be my go-to and my all-time favorite. I just love them and if the fit is right they can bring so much elegance to the whole outfit. This subtle brown caramel color adds a lot of depth and texture to the outfit. Again a must-have for your capsule wardrobe because this will go with so many other pieces. And for jewelry I decided to do black and gold to match with our base layer and the belt. For shoes I'm going to wear these loafers again. These are from an Amazon storefront called Bow Today and they are also the sponsor of today's video. I ordered two pair of shoes from their store and I have been testing them for three weeks now so I can give my honest review and recommendation to you guys. Let's talk about loafers first. They come in two versatile colors black and brown with gold chain detail on top that I think is very stylish and the chunky sole provides a comfortable and sturdy base for walking. I didn't experience any discomfort and the breaking-in period was just a few days which is great given that most expensive loafers out there also take couple weeks and overall I will highly recommend these loafers to anyone looking to add a touch of sophistication to their outfit. I also bought these white chunky sneakers and I'm sure you might be seeing a lot of them in my youtube shorts recently for my 10x10 outfit challenge series and again the sole of these shoes provides excellent support and cushioning making them ideal for all kinds of outfits and I love that the fit was perfect. It makes me so happy when you buy something online and they are actually true to size. So you can style them with a pair of jeans, a skirt or even with your athletic wear and I have shown some examples here on how versatile these pair of sneakers are. The only negative was that I ordered them from Amazon and it took more than 10 days for them to arrive which is a bit unusual and more than I expected but the supplier was easy to communicate so overall I would recommend Bow today to anyone looking for comfortable and stylish shoes and in case you are interested in their collection I will leave the links in the description box down below. Now coming back to our outfit number four this is what the final outfit looks like and if we are talking about blazers I want to show you one another look that I recently created on my Instagram reels and you guys loved it so I thought of quickly adding it to the video here just in case you guys missed it. I am wearing this very lightweight army green sweater which is perfect for spring season and playing with colors like sage, army green, mint I think brings certain interest to this whole outfit. Something unique but very sophisticated and chic and of course if you think it's too hot to wear so many layers you can always carry the blazer with you and I think just the t-shirt and trousers alone also make for a perfect spring outfit. I also wanted to cover one casual outfit and show you guys how I make a few changes to make it ideal for spring season and for this I'm wearing super high-waisted pleated pants with black button-down shirt but I love to keep the buttons undone for this one to reveal the high waistline which I think is very flattering and I totally understand if you think this fit is too casual for the office or your dress code you can just close the buttons and make it more formal. There are so many ways you can play around this. For accessories I'm using a hint of black in my ring so that it matches with my shirt and everything ties up together in the end and I'm also repeating the same jewelry, watch, bag, shoes because I don't believe in buying new pieces for every other outfit but at the same time I also don't want to bore you guys with the same details so here is the final look. And for colder days I think this outfit can be very summery so to make this outfit more weather appropriate I always carry a scarf. I think this is another technique that you can use to layer up or down your looks and if it gets too hot outside you can always remove the scarf very easily so it's very practical. Now let's just quickly talk about our final and the last outfit. If you're someone who's new to Canada and are confused on what to wear during the spring season then I want to mention that you should have at least two to three lightweight sweaters like these in your wardrobe that you can wear on days when you feel like you have nothing to wear and always buy them in neutral colors like black, beige, brown so you can style them with various pants. Sometimes styling these basic pieces and not worrying about the latest trends can make your outfit look 100 times more beautiful so I will leave you guys with that thought and hopefully you find this video helpful.
