PROIZD ISLAND CROATIA'S SECRET ISLAND PARADISE Hidden Beach Vela Luka

This is Pro-Ease. Hi we're Jeff and Angela and we're Pure Detour. This summer we are island hopping the Dalmatian coast of Croatia. We debated whether or not to tell you guys about this place but since we have let's show you how to get here. First find the Ina gas station in the center of Vela Luka. It's easy to find because it's the only one in town. Next turn 180 degrees find the boats labeled Pro-Ease. That's what you're going to jump on. And then after a boat ride that seems like forever you arrive at the island of Pro-Ease. The boat tickets are 80 kuna per person round trip and Jeff's being a bit dramatic the boat ride takes about 40 minutes. The boat only carries about 60 people and at this time of year there's only one boat in and one boat out so that'll give you a good idea as to how many people are on the island at any given time. After you get off the boat if you go to the far right side the first beach you'll hit is called Batalo beach. All of the beaches here on Pro-Ease are connected by these little paths and they're lined with trees they smell like pine and they're always very quiet so it's basically just you and the sound of these crickets. If you follow the path in front of the restaurant straight through that beach is called Veli Bili Bok. And this is one of our favorite spots in the whole world probably because not a lot of people know about it. And when you are ready for a break from the sun and the sea there is one restaurant here on the island. We ordered Chawapti Chi which is grilled ground beef and pork and Rajni Chi which is grilled pork on a skewer. Both of them served with a red pepper paste called Ivar and raw onions. Just finishing up a meal at the restaurant here on Pro-Ease and it is exactly what you would hope for and what you would expect from a restaurant on a little island like this. Just gorgeous delicious simple grilled meat. So we'll see how much I remember of this place if I'm not mistaken to get these two beaches which one of them we're not going to because it's the nudist beach and I'm a little too shy. It's a bit of a walk. If you are to veer left from the main path you will hit Sredni Bili Bok and Donji Bili Bok. So as Angie was saying earlier there's one boat a day at this time of year so when you come over here you're kind of stuck here for seven hours or so. You can't get back anywhere. Nobody lives on this island. It's completely deserted. It's just yeah nobody really comes here. It's an amazing little place. It's just you and the pine trees and the crickets and sea. So Jeff is a little bit of a ocean snob. He was lucky enough to live a good chunk of his life in the Bahamas and of course they have some of the best waters in the world. The best. So when I brought him here the first time and told him that the waters are just gorgeous unbelievable he was like we'll see. What's your impression? It's awesome. We have decided this beach Sredni Bili Bok is by far our favorite. Look at these gorgeous rock formations behind us. Look how clear the water is. Unbelievable. Okay so if you were just watching that I just crashed a drone. Okay we're working our way back to the boat right now but a drone update. Best I can tell it's showing the only error it's showing right now is gimbal locked. I don't know it may have just completely destroyed the gimbal and the means the drone's never going to work again. It's just a drone. It's okay. It was really just a stupid move on my part. I was trying to fly him low to the water and bring him in. I knew the cliff that I ran him into was behind us. I just thought it was further back and when I tried to climb him he just did not climb fast enough because I had switched him into cinematic mode and kablooey. So Proez Island is a great way to spend an entire day. Come over, have a swim, relax, get a little bit of a hike in, walk in the past, have a beer, have some lunch, crash a drone.
