15 Video Views·Mar 18, 2023
What an atmosphere I should say this stadium can generate.
The home fans will be looking to book their place in the quarter-final for the very first time.
No Frankfurt fans in the stadium tonight.
Which way is this one going to go? Let's hand you over to our commentary team for the evening.
Paul Dempsey and Lucy Ward.
Thank you very much and a very good evening everybody.
With every passing week this season seems more certain to echo in eternity for Napoli.
Along with the glory, the cavalry charge.
Napoli have the ball and they have the lead.
And Witano, it's still alive, it comes back off traps, gloves and...
...if they can at all tonight Eintracht and seeing how the night develops.
Yeah, I think just keeping it tight initially.
...out there, doesn't stop the cross from coming in.
Mario Götze got the touch on it but he...
...defend the shoulder without any suspic...
...positive beginning from Eintracht Frankfurt.
And they now...
...Di Vaceri with space.
And you know that...
...Götze's got to try and contain him.
Mario, he supported and that was going for...
...he's very busy here early on and he's got a foul here out of...
...I mean...
...certainly brave.
Lovely free kick.
Driving right into the penalty box.
Did well to...
Great adjustment there.
And this time the ball did stick.
Go on Götze.
Had to ask Ossimian to go and get the ball.
One of the really big comeback stories.
Menacing.
And almost delivering but trapped.
Was so cool the goalkeeper.
A lot of pressure there.
Got enough on it.
Marjorie returns it.
...games.
One behind.
Oh, late there, Lenz.
Zieliński.
Dumbo and Huyser attacked it.
...performances that Eintracht Frankfurt...
...put in in Europe or Moscow will see...
...renowned for in those central midfield areas.
Ossimian again is stopped.
Shut down.
At the expense of another.
Free kick.
Buta.
...have enough.
I still think they're just in control of this game...
...in terms of where to go.
Terrific ball by Kamada.
Götze almost seemed to hesitate.
Maria Rui.
Inviting a foul.
Getting the free kick.
Dumbo and Huyser.
Di Lorenzo.
A free kick.
...angle.
Had to use his power.
Bocca.
Kieva Celia now.
Measures it to perfection.
The goalkeeper to deny him.
And again a bit deeper.
This time Anthony Taylor.
Couldn't quite give it to Lentz.
There might have been a foul by Lentz in there.
To take too many risks.
They were a bit short-handed there for a moment.
Crosses right footed.
Ossimian.
Had to reach for it.
Did he reach for it?
To send Napoli into the last eight.
Right on the stroke of halftime.
Ossimian does it again.
Goal number 22.
Tell you what.
What a header that was.
...by Lentz.
Haven't been yet.
Some flickerings from Deji Kamada tonight.
Threatening to...
Carlo Ancelotti.
All from the back.
All the way forward.
The centre forward's not too happy with him.
...tried to do the hard running up there.
But that's a waste of his energy, isn't it?
Picked up Politano.
Here's the captain again.
Di Lorenzo.
Brilliant.
Ossimian turns it in.
2-0 on the night.
That was always going to be difficult.
Politano.
Givacielia.
Saltyrapov.
Nicely done.
And Kamada.
Had the chance.
He may have been offside.
Better wasn't to know either way.
Kamada.
...trying to invent something.
Improvise.
The overhead kick.
No.
Di Lorenzo once more.
And on it goes!
Zielinski.
Goes over.
It is a penalty.
Zielinski.
The stadium erupts.
And Napoli now are hitting their peaks.
