Hi I'm Jeff and I'm Angela and for some reason we call ourselves Pure Detour. Catchy right?
In the summer of 2021 we quit our jobs sold everything we own and left Canada to travel
the world full-time. Right now we're taking an epic three-day tour from Marrakesh to Fez
through the high atlas mountains and the Sahara desert. Day three morning we had a little bit of
a windstorm last night so it's blowing everything in the camp around a bit but now we're gonna go
jump on the road and see what else we can get into. First stop on day three is Ziz valley.
Majoub we're gonna grab a coffee here we're gonna show you around the valley a little bit
it's pretty cool looking. Majoub says that they're very famous for their dates around here
and below you can see all of these palm trees there must be at least a dozen.
There is this glorious canyon behind us these amazing mountains and I ask our guide Majoub
Majoub what do they call this he goes it's just a mountain. These last couple of days here running
through Morocco is I I'm blown away with just how beautiful this country is this is insanity.
Today we need to cover a lot of ground there's almost 600 kilometers between the Sahara desert
and Bezd. Not a lot of stops today but the scenery is beautiful. Here's one thing I didn't think I'd
ever see. Majoub told us there'd be monkeys in the cedar forest and we didn't believe him.
Turns out there's monkeys. We didn't spend a lot of time at the place as it was packed with locals
feeding the monkeys. Tons of kids there who were loud and annoying the monkeys so we left.
We've made a quick stop here in Ifrane which they call the Switzerland of Morocco. It's a very
popular ski resort actually which I didn't expect to find here in Morocco and a very
popular vacation destination. This is the Lion of Ifrane. Legend has it that it was carved by a
German World War II prisoner of war in exchange for his freedom. It also commemorates the last
wild atlas lion which was shot here in the 1920s. After nine hours of driving we're finally arriving
in Bezd. So we have made it to Bezd and as you just saw we are trying to get the rest of the
Sahara desert out of our shoes. Might take a while. We cannot recommend Berber Dream Tours enough.
They were just really a once in a lifetime experience and Majoub just made it entirely
seamless. He goes above and beyond for his job and does an amazing job. So if you guys are interested
in taking one of these tours contact Berber Dream Tours and when you do be sure to tell them
mention Pure Detour in there and they're going to give you a special deal on a tour if you guys want
to check one of these tours out. We've checked into the most amazing Riyadh here in Bezd. It's
called Riyadh Shadpolis. It's gorgeous. So we are going to wrap up for the night. It's been a long
three days. So if you can hit that subscribe button below. It really helps us a lot and we're
going to take it easy tonight. So have a good night.
