George Washington Bridge - World's Busiest Bridge - New York City - 4K Infrastructure Drive

The George Washington Bridge is a suspension bridge that spans the Hudson River, connecting Fort Lee, New Jersey to Washington Heights in Manhattan, New York City. It is named after George Washington, who was the first President of the United States and commander-in-chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War.

The George Washington Bridge was designed by Othmar Ammann and opened to traffic on October 25, 1931. At the time of its opening, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world, with a main span of 3,500 feet (1,067 meters). Today, it remains one of the busiest bridges in the world, with over 100 million vehicles crossing it annually.

The bridge is operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and has two levels, with the upper level carrying four lanes of traffic in each direction and the lower level carrying three lanes of traffic in each direction, as well as pedestrian and bicycle paths.

The George Washington Bridge has become an iconic symbol of New York City, featured in many movies, television shows, and photographs. It is also an important transportation link, connecting New Jersey to New York City and providing access to other major highways and destinations in the region.
