Latest in 2022, Lawson's 10 Best Products! Samurai Junjiro Channel Hi, I'm Samurai Junjiro, born and raised in Japan. In this video, I'm going to introduce you to a convenience store, Lawson. It has over 3,000 products and I'm going to try 10 different dishes that I recommend. I'm going to introduce you to some of the classic items and some of the newest items, so please stay tuned. Now, let's get started. Here we are at Lawson. Lawson came to Japan from the U.S. in 1975 and now has over 13,000 stores all over Japan. There are various products, but first, I will introduce the desserts that represent Lawson's products. First up is the Premium Roll Cake. It's the biggest hit product that has sold 400 million units since it was released in 2009. It's fresh cream made with Hokkaido milk and rolled in a sponge cake. The dough is fluffy and moist. The cream has a strong milk flavor. It's been improved many times since its release and it gets better and better every year. Next, I'd like to introduce you to this dessert. This is a pudding that was just released in June 2022. It's a pudding topped with coffee syrup soaked sponge dough and mascarpone cream. It smells good like coffee. The mascarpone cream is soft and smooth. The bittersweet coffee flavor goes great with the sponge dough. It tastes like tiramisu with cocoa powder on top. Let's try some pudding. Pudding has a strong egg taste. Eating it with mascarpone cream will make you feel sweet and happy. Next, I'll introduce three kinds of fried foods. The first thing to eat is karaage-kun which is representative of Lawson's fried food. It's a big hit product that had sold 3.6 billion meals since it was released in 1986. They have limited time only flavors but this time I went with the standard regular flavor. It's seasoned with two different kinds of Japanese salt. The batter is crunchy. The chicken inside is soft and fluffy with little fat. It's not dry but fresh. It's the right size when you are a little hungry. Next up is this fried food. It's a menchikatsu fried with batter on a burger steak. I love the crunchy batter. The meat inside is juicy and overflowing with gravy. You can also taste the sweetness of the onions. It's delicious as it is but I also recommend topping it with the sauce that comes with it. Now that's more flavorful and tastier. Well then, let me introduce you to our next item. Next up is the fried chicken. Lawson's fried chicken uses rice flour for the batter which makes it really crispy. The salt and black pepper give it a crispy taste. The chicken inside is tender and juicy and it's easy to eat with no bones in it. Actually, Lawson sells this special bread for fried chicken. I'll put the fried chicken on the bread. Put the mayonnaise that comes with the bread. And it's done. This burger is very satisfying. The bread is soft and fluffy. The mayonnaise is a little spicy because of the mustard. Next, I'll show you onigiri, the rice ball. Lawson sells all kinds of onigiri but this time I went for the salmon roll onigiri. It smells so good like seaweed. Let's break it open and take a look inside. There's plenty of salmon roll inside. The salmon roll seasoned with soy sauce goes great with the rice. Next up is this item. This is salmon and shrimp sushi. Nice to know you can get sushi that is difficult to control freshness at a convenient store. This sushi is actually a block of rice. After pouring soy sauce on it, let's cut it into bite-sized pieces with chopsticks. The shrimp is so plump and sweet. The rice has just the right amount of vinegar. The salmon is so fatty. I can't believe I bought this at a convenient store. Next up is pork kakuni. Sold refrigerated, this item can be cooked by simply placing it in the microwave to heat up. When it gets heated, move it to a plate and eat it. There were two big pork inside. I love the smell of the sweet sauce. Because it uses pork belly, the meat juice overflows. The rich taste of the sweet sauce goes well with the pork. It's stewed well so it's soft enough to cut with chopsticks. It's a taste that makes you want to eat rice. It is also recommended to eat this pork with mustard. The spiciness added to the sweet sauce really brings out the flavor. Next up is this product. It's omelette rice released in April 2022. It's a collaboration with Grill Mantenboshi which has eight restaurants in Japan. This omelette rice can also be heated in a microwave oven. Let's try it then. I can smell the delicious aroma of ketchup rice and demi-glace sauce. The egg and rice are separated so you can enjoy the different flavors of each. Let's start with the ketchup rice. The tomato taste is strong and fruity. You can even taste the sauce. The eggs are amazingly fluffy. The demi-glace sauce is so rich and goes so well with the eggs. Let's put the egg on the ketchup rice and pour the demi-glace sauce over it. The demi-glace sauce with red wine makes the rice taste even better. It tastes just like the real thing you'd get at the restaurant. Last but not least, we have frozen ramen. Lawson has a great selection of frozen foods. We'll heat up the soup in a bowl of boiling water. We'll put the noodles in the bag on a plate and heat it up in the microwave. Once the noodles are heated, we'll add the soup to the bowl. Pour in the boiling water and stir. Add the noodles there and your miso ramen is done. It smells so good with miso. The sweet and spicy flavored meat miso is so flavorful. The noodles are so chewy, it's hard to believe they are frozen food. The corn and bean sprouts give it a nice texture. I recommend adding some rayu to this ramen.
