Temple of Saturn: The Last Built Pagan Temple of Rome

The Temple of Saturn was one of the great Republican temples of Rome. It still stands overlooking the Forum from the Capitoline hill slopes. It was dedicated in the early 5C BC, rebuilt in the Augustan age by L. Muncius Plancus, and rebuilt again at the end of the 4C AD, the last temple rebuilt in Rome. It stands today as a reminder of ancient Rome's lasting legacy.
