Hi, it's Kevin from Epic Gardening here. As you can see,
starting seeds like crazy right now. So if you've watched my earlier videos,
you know that this is the seed starting little tray that I use.
I got it from my buddy Parker at h2ogrowing.com.
So go check that site out.
This is what I'm going to be starting seeds out in for the LED grow.
And it's pretty simple. I've got two cherry tomatoes in here.
I have two basils and two just random varieties of lettuce.
So in the LED grow, I wanted to test a leafy green,
an herb and something that actually fruited and a cherry tomato, in my opinion,
at least seemed to be the best option. So that's what I've got going on here.
Right here, this is stuff that's going in the tower garden.
And as you can see, if I get real close,
I always plant three or four seeds in one spot and then clip out.
This is lettuce over here. I went a little, a little hard,
probably just sort of doused them with seeds.
And so I'm going to have to do a little clipping there,
but that's just because you're not going to get a hundred percent germination
rate. And these were a little bit old as far as seeds go,
probably nearing a year, maybe a little bit over a year.
So I wanted to make sure that they propagated.
And right here I've got my journal. This is really, really sloppy right now,
but it's just a little map of what's going on. Spinach, Thai, basil.
I really like that Thai basil variety instead of the normal.
Chard right up front. As you can see, we do have a little chard popping up.
Chard usually takes a lot longer to germinate than other seeds.
And then lettuce varieties. I've got black seeded Simpson, cilantro, kale,
and something's going on in this row right here that I'm,
for some reason I just didn't take that down on my notes. It's this,
this row right, right there. It's probably another lettuce variety,
almost positive. But as usual, kale's popping up really,
really quick and then lettuce also germinates really fast.
So this is all going in the tower.
I had to actually tear down the tower and clean it out.
And I'm going to do a full video on sort of the cleanup process of that because
I did find it to be a little bit frustrating,
but that's actually my own fault because I let the plants die in the system.
And you know,
tune into the next video about the tower to figure out why that's a bad idea.
I'm sure you can probably figure out why just by thinking about it,
but why not watch the video? Anyways, guys,
that's what's coming up soon for Epic Gardening.
Would love to have comments and questions if you have any or even suggestions on
what to grow. Thinking about putting together a special grow next,
maybe a pumpkin in time for Halloween.
See if I can get a hydro pumpkin going quicker than the a hundred days that it
usually takes in the soil. But anyways,
thank you so much for watching and please like, subscribe, hit me on Facebook,
hit me on Twitter, hit me on the blog. Wherever you hit me,
you can even email me. I will hit you back.
And honestly if you really want to get good hydro information from a bunch of
people, including myself,
check out the Epic Gardening forums because there's starting to be a lot of cool
grow journals getting posted on there. So please check that out. Um, anyways,
Kevin from Epic Gardening. Keep growing. Thank you for watching.
