Random Gardening Week & Visiting World's Largest Flower! Corpse Flower!
In this week's vlog there is no actual subject or direction other than going to the Missouri Botanical Garden here in St. Louis and visiting the world's largest flower. I did go by Lowes home improvement for a quick follow me around where I saw some adorable cactus and succulent planters and checked out their houseplants. At the botanical gardens one of their Corpse flowers is blooming ( well was going to bloom ) and I had to check it out. The Amorphophallus titanum, also known as the Corpse flower or Titan arum, is the largest unbranched inflorescence. These ultra rare plants are a big deal to get to see in person as they rarely bloom in potted culture. After seeing the super rare flower I did a garden tour of the botanicals spotlighting the rose garden, water lilies, tropical and houseplants and the cactus and succulent garden tour was nice too since those were cold hardy cactus and succulents. After going to the garden I went by a pond supply store to check out their pond plants then went home and potted up a red stemmed thalia for my water garden.
